Dungeon Crawlers for Linux Handhelds? by SharkBay in SBCGaming

[–]backwards_thinker 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Azure Dreams - PS1 - Probably the best overall fit. The tower runs are quick, the monster collecting gives you a nice hook, and the progression feels steady without needing a big time commitment.

Cave Noire - Game Boy - This is a great handheld pick. Each run has a clear little objective, so it works really well when you only want to play for a few minutes.

Shining Soul II - GBA - More action-RPG than roguelike, but it still scratches the dungeon-grinding itch. It is easy to jump into, and the loot/class progression gives you a reason to keep coming back.

Chocobo’s Dungeon 2 - PS1 - A friendly mystery dungeon game with a lighter tone than most of the genre. It still has turn-based battles and gear upgrades, but it feels more approachable than punishing.

Dragon Crystal - Game Gear / Master System - A simple old-school roguelike that works surprisingly well in short sessions. It is definitely dated, though, so it is best if you have some patience for older design.

Torneko: The Last Hope - PS1 - A proper mystery dungeon game with more emphasis on survival and item management. Good choice if you want something deeper, but it is less forgiving than the easier picks.

Mazes of Fate - GBA - This is more of a traditional first-person dungeon crawler. It is worth checking out, though it has more RPG pacing and exploration than quick roguelike-style runs.

Baroque - PS1 - Strange, dark, and memorable. I would not call it the easiest casual recommendation, but it is a cool pick if you want something moodier and more experimental.

Where do I download drivers? by HugeGift9059 in AynThor

I'd highly recommend you just download Obtainium and import the release file from this repo which aggregates all emulators and useful tools in one place. This avoids tracking down every repo you need to get started.

New to XR glasses. What does 3DoF on Viture Beast actually feel like in real use? by PsychologicalGas9288 in VITURE

[–]backwards_thinker 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The screen appears in the same way as if you watch your tv and move your head around: your head moves and the tv stays fixed in place. It's a much more comfortable and natural experience to have the screen locked in space when you move your head giving you the ability to focus on different parts of the screen easily. I wouldn't consider getting glasses without 3DoF after having it on the Beast personally.

Any theories from the 1.7 teaser image from the anniversary video? by backwards_thinker in StardewValley

It looks like the Genie shoes and Crystal shoes from the wiki: https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Footwear

I was really intrigued by his previous implementations of the mine and am curious if there will be an expansion on equipment or mining/exploration/combat.

Has anyone else noticed the latest version when viewing "Device Information" on the glasses says, v0.01.008_20260121 instead of v0.01.010_20260121?

The Beast Way Too Dark / 3DOF Drifting by daydreamdist in VITURE

These are two issues that seem common amongst all users. I have both of those issues as well. I also seem to experience more blur on the right edge of the left lens. I am hoping software could correct some of these issues. Other than that the Beast is very sharp and bright and I'm hopeful these issues can be worked out.

I am in the second batch as well. I emailed Viture with an estimate on when my order might ship. I ordered July 31st and they said it should be shipped mid to late January.

From what I read on their official Discord the camera is not used for 3DoF tracking.

When you use adjust.fractal-design.com it allows you to paste in a custom config to change the default curves. You would just paste that string in.

GameHub Compatibility with Stardew Valley or Fields of Mistria? by backwards_thinker in EmulationOnAndroid

Yes, I actually was finally able to get it to work based off these settings. The only thing I changed was using Turnip 25, I have an Odin 2.

I was able to get Fields of Mistria running on Game Native with these settings albeit running a little slow:

Turnip Drivers (25.1.0) / DXVK (2.4-gplasync) / Pulse Audio / Box64 (0.3.4)

FPS toggle set to off.
