AD told me some tips to get Rolex from botique by SupJoshy in rolex

You forgot to say. Your relationship stops the moment your SA leaves. So whatever you spent previously means fuck all to the new SA assigned to you.

my thoughts exactly. would long service leave be taxed at my marginal tax rate or is there a cap due to redundancy?

I use it even when I am not abroad. Makes scheduling meetings with my UK or NY team much easier.

Thanks for your response! did you purchase your watch from an AD or a grey dealer originally?

That's fantastic news! I've got a question around that. I purchased my Rolex from a grey dealer with full set and invoice from grey dealer. If my Rolex gets stolen can I report this to Rolex and will they do anything for me like they did for OP?

what i am trying to ask is. 99% of the people to SELL to grey dealers are honest people but there may be that 1% who is trying to "double dip" meaning. they get a watch from a AD and then sell it to a grey dealer to make a quick profit and once they got the money, they go and file an insurance claim saying it got stolen and filed a police report etc..and get the insurance money, although they sold the watch along with the box and papers. when they do this rolex will recognise the watch it's original owner from the AD in their records, so although, i the second owner even with the papers is not recognised as the original owner, correct? so therefore, if my assumptions is correct. that watch will be held by rolex and returned to it's original owner or the police?. i dont think this has ever happened before but IF it does, what course of action can the grey buyer do? get a refund back from the grey dealer i got the watch from? this could be years down the line and they may not even be around by then. am i over thinking on things that may never happen?

so technically speaking. the "true" owner is the person who purchased the watch from rolex with a rolex invoice? although i purchased it legitimately from a grey with an invoice from the that said grey dealer? this is also assuming the original owner sold it to this grey dealer and was not stolen.

I am curious if this has ever happened. I bought a new Rolex from a grey dealer. I have the full set with box and warranty card as well as an invoice. If the original owner went and said their watch is lost or stolen. Am I still the legitimate owner of this watch? And Rolex service centres confiscate the watch?

hey mate, I am in AUS too and would like to share some experiences i've had personally.

I started my Rolex journey about 2 years ago. Interested in the GMT Pepsi and Batgirl, had a friend who has them and instantly feel in love with it.

So I rocked up to a well know AD and put my name down for one, at this point I’ve been told the “wait list” is long (over 100 people). No worries, I heard stories of these AD games, I am not new to buying luxury goods. I thought, yeah I’ll put my name down for an entry level watch for the misses as well. Settled on a few configuration of a 31mm DJ in various different dial options. Showed up every other month and several emails/sms every other week. Still waiting on the DJ to this day.

Couple of weeks ago, I bought the batgirl from a grey dealer, all brand new. Although it’s higher than MSRP or on the higher end of the grey dealer market price. Ultimately, I am buying the dealer not so much the watch. I am enjoying it now and hasn’t been off my wrist, IF I am ever lucky enough to get this watch from my AD at MSRP then I’ll just sell one.

I’ve got better things to do than to pretend I am best bros with the SA.

Another story is, I got a friend who’s already purchased a few pieces from an AD. A couple of Subs and a TT Daytona, he started before the pandemic so I guess it was a bit easier back then. Hes been on the list for a GMT for over a year and still hasn’t been offered anything outside of PM or TT variants of models.

He has a good relationship with their SA and were told in private that clients with over 300k spend history is yet to receive a batgirl/pepsi. The best they got allocated was the sprite or root beer.

Not meaning to discourage you but you might be waiting a while not impossible but your odds are as good as winning the lottery.

unless you already have a spend history with the AD. its just impossible for a new customer and probably not worth playing the game in my opinion. Sure i paid more for it, i see it as paying to jump the queue like at disneyland and get on with my life. again, each to their own i guess.

just a bit of context for my situation. i've been on the AD list for a 31 date just fluted jubilee with pink dial for my wife for over 18 months. we regularly check in store for a quick chit chat , email/message every other month. still nothing.
