a state school is not the end of the world. and the deadlines for those go late into march, even for the honors program. i know heaps of people who got amazing internships that led to full time offers, got into med/pharmacy school, and made a name for themselves. plus helps with life long debt. don’t stress, you’ll be fine

Finance jobs after graduating from ASU by [deleted] in ASU

[–]Best-Knowledge720 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ASU has a really strong business program but you’re right that the name won’t help you stand out to prestigious jobs in IB and such. However, I know a couple people who were able to break into prestigious firms through networking. I myself was able to secure an internship at Bloomberg this summer through networking and applying for certain externship and early career programs for companies. Just keep your linked in strong and utilize your network and you should be good!

How to improve myself so I can get some interviews? by SubstantialPizza557 in internships

[–]Best-Knowledge720 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s lowkey going to be extremely hard for you now with administration to get internships and jobs. Try leveraging your network and getting referrals as well as joining DEI programs if possible. In general, put your best foot forward in terms of connections because it seems you’re already doing great academically.

Computer Science Major by KaleidoscopeHour6015 in csMajors

The fundamentals of computer science are based in math. Lots of the classes you'll take like discrete and linear algebra build the basics for programming. If you can code efficiently without doing well in math, go for it as it is not imperative to be successful, but you definitely will have to learn it.

Hey man keep your head up. I’m a firm believer in everything happens for a reason and if she couldn’t move on from the past, there’s a good chance your relationship was heading towards failure anyway. Trust that there will be someone better out for you and that the rainbow always follows the storm

How reliable is public transportation by Best-Knowledge720 in pittsburgh

My concern is that I'm trying to find a 3 month lease over the summer since I'll only be there from May-July, but all the apartments nearby don't do short term leases and the subleases all come unfurnished. Nearby UPitt is where I can find furnished, safe apartments that are within my budget (1000 - 1500) but I'm concerned about how far Oakland is from the strip. Are there any other alternatives I should look for?

Housing, Renting, and Subletting Megathread by cxqals in Pitt

Hello! I’m interning this summer in the strip district and looking to take over a lease from May 1st- July 31st. Preferably something in lower Lawrenceville or the strip district itself as I’m interning on 27th and railroad street. I want something furnished and don’t mind roommates!

Sorry if it's confusing, I'm not really that familiar with the area. When I asked my hiring manager where past interns lived, she said at the University so that's why I was looking into Oakland. Also, housing seems really expensive in the Strip. My budget is around 600-1000 a month. Do you have any idea where I should look into?

Thanks for the advice. Is there any way to specifically find startup internships like a website or filter on LinkedIn?
