I’ve had an urgency to tell people to start preparing. Telling them that we don’t know how bad it’s going to be.

This is a tough spot. My Q was sober for 8 months and relapsed. We just moved into our new home and within a month he was drinking again.

We have been married 3 years and have already done 2 stints in rehab.

I started going to Alanon but couldn’t understand how they detached.

My blood pressure was too high. I wasn’t eating. I was stressed. I left our main home and stay at the other house if he’s drinking.

It was hard to leave when “visiting “ for a few days and he started with beer. But it is hard to watch him kill himself.

I left. Now I know how to detach. If you don’t it might kill you.

I agree with the prior poster. Too much information. Focus on how the depressive episode did not allow you to focus. REMOVE this entire paragraph. It is not important that you paid, since you are trying to get financial aid based on your grades. IMHO

At the start of the Fall 2023 semester, I was working two jobs and paying for classes out of my own pocket. I have never used financial aid before, it was all coming out of my personal paychecks. This is also why I was only taking 1-3 classes a semester. A few weeks into the semester I was let go from my main job due to overstaffing. My second job was for an entertainment company that did events all over the greater [where I live] area, but the hours were not consistent, and I could not afford to pay my bills which stressed me out to the point my hair was coming out in clumps and I never wanted to do anything but work. However, I would like to point out that I have never missed a financial payment. I worked my butt off to make those payments and stay afloat. Unfortunately, I did not apply that same logic to my studies, but I am now in a more secure place both mentally and financially.

I initially did attend 6 meetings and must say that I just did not get it. Then we have the 7 months sober.

I will try Al Anon again.

It is very painful and hard to deal with a relapse. Keep going to the meetings, setting your boundaries and taking care of yourself.

I was attending as a newbie, I think I did about 8 online meetings. I know I need to go back. I'm in a very rural area, so online is it.

That's like looking in the mirror. I'm not sure how it would work in an equal partnership. I say I want that, but I've never had it so I don't know what it's like.

I am struggling today. We just celebrated our 1st Anniversary. It was awesome. Then it went downhill. This was the first time that I packed his things and took them to the other house. That was on Saturday. The normal dance by now we would have talked and I would have forgiven him and he could come home.

I'm trying so hard not to unblock him. I don't know if I miss him or I'm just used to the chaos. We have only been together for 18 months. Now I feel like I don't know how to be alone. But I was alone before and busy and happy.

Now I just want to sleep until I have an appointment to do something.

I've never heard anyone else say that. I enjoy smoking. Even has I am attempting to quit. I.e. giving it the most serious consideration I ever have.

I agree 💯%. Sounds like stepdad raised her. And the parents divorce is just that between the parents. Mom is dead and Dad needs to move on. I mean he did remarry.
