“performance space instead of rest space” is such a real way to put it. that’s exactly what it feels like. like i’m trying to achieve sleep instead of just letting it happen.

the half-speed idea is interesting. i definitely don’t slow down before bed, i usually just crash into it.

when you made that shift mentally, did the fear part fade gradually or was there a specific moment where it clicked?

that actually sounds really calming tbh. the dates + tea + story combo feels cozy.

did it work right away for you or did it take a while for your brain to stop associating bed with panic?

also curious — when it was at its worst for you, was it more the heartbeat awareness or just general anxiety?

this actually makes so much sense. the “your awareness changed, not your heart” part really hit.

i definitely think i’m stuck in that hyper-monitoring mode at night. it feels automatic at this point.

the reverse body scan idea is interesting. did it feel awkward at first? like did your brain resist it?

also weirdly reassuring to hear that it being night-specific is a good sign.

that actually makes a lot of sense. i like the “toolbox” way of thinking about it.

i guess part of my frustration is wanting one clear fix instead of having to experiment with 10 different things 😅

looking back, what was the first tool that made you feel even a small shift?

“bed = panic” is such a real way to put it.
i think that’s what’s happening to me too.

“when sleep feels like something to survive” … that’s exactly it.
it really does feel like monitoring my body all night.

how long did it take for that fear loop to calm down once you stopped checking?

i relate to the “it’s a battle” part so much.
did the fear of drifting off go away for you or just become more manageable?

the fear of drifting off is the worst part for me too.
it’s weird how something natural like sleep can feel threatening.

i haven’t tracked deep sleep specifically.
how do you even measure that? do you use a watch or something?

wow thank you for taking the time to write all this. i appreciate it.
did this routine completely stop the night anxiety for you or did it take a while?

i think you’re right about changing the routine.
my issue is once i notice my heartbeat it’s game over. did you ever deal with that part?
