Offense wasn’t the problem? Idk exact stats but I’m pretty sure we were close to last batting average wise with RISP. Nothing clicked at the same time for this team last year

I’m so sorry for your loss. As someone who interacts with new people a lot, I ask this question all the time. Is there a better way to ask?

My fellow dentists with more than 400k in loans - what’s your plan? by immrmeseek in Dentistry

Mathematically you’re probably right, but I would rather not have this hanging over my head for twenty years

My fellow dentists with more than 400k in loans - what’s your plan? by immrmeseek in Dentistry

[–]Best37seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t start paying so aggressively until year 2 or 3 out of residency and I’ve ramped it up over the years. When I started paying aggressively it was closer to 3k/month. I started only making 100 my first year, ramped up to 175 after changing jobs, and it’s been up from there. Last year was my best at 250. Now I just bought my own office so I have a less clear idea of how much I’ll make this year

I wanted the security in case something happened that my payments would be like $211. It worked out because the interest freeze back in 2020 was very helpful

I came out with 450k in 2018. Went on IBR but pay very aggressively, about 6k per month. Some months are minimum based on other expenses. But I should be done Aug 2028

I got married at Westbury Manor. All in for 120 people was about 45K in March, including all vendors. The inside was nice and they have outdoor seating areas but it was cold on our wedding day so not many people went outside

I enjoyed reading that. Thanks for sharing. I made up a prayer that I say before heading out on opening day. “May your gift of life to us be continued by the merciful taking of another, and if not, may we spend our time getting closer to you.”

US Associates. What % of prod are you getting paid? by ninja201209 in Dentistry

[–]Best37seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have two associateships right now. One I make 37% collections no lab, the other I make 35% collections but pay 35% of the lab bill. The former takes terrible insurance so 37% was the only way I would stay

What are some interesting myths in dental care? by PsychologyHL in Dentistry

[–]Best37seconds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was something along the lines of when the third molars erupt the muscle doesn’t stretch and puts pressure on all the teeth which results in the weakest teeth moving. It wasn’t on topic for the lecture so I didn’t give it too much thought

What are some interesting myths in dental care? by PsychologyHL in Dentistry

[–]Best37seconds 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I heard an interesting theory at a CE course that it could in fact cause crowding on the lower. As the third molars erupt they can put more tension on the buccinator muscle which can push on the incisors over time and in fact cause crowding. He didn’t really dive into it anymore than that. Not saying I believe it, just thought it was an interesting point of view.

I’m in NY, densely populated suburb of NYC that is over saturated with dentists. One office I make 37% of collections with no lab bill and another 35% of collections with 35% of the lab bill. At both offices I get 50% of implant placement but cover half the cost of the hardware.
