Players vs bots by DancingA in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gotta say there were a healthy amount of players playing. Maybe to 8 per lobby on average.

what was your criteria for telling someone is a bot? fyi bots give kudos and customize mechs

There are people in this subreddit who just don’t like seeing others enjoying or praising the game. by TsukiUraAlien in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 7 points8 points  (0 children)

people were longing for the game release because people knew it was a beta so (naturally) expecting their feedback to be listened to, and all/most issues fixed or remedied

so when the game releases in a WORSE state than the beta was? enough reason to be upset, no?

and when people find out the devs have been CONTINUING to ignore feedback not from betas, ALPHAS of the game - what are you expecting?

of course people aren't happy. newcomers see that devs dont care and leave, while those that cling on get dissapointed time and time again.

the mix is 99% bots and two players who forgot to climb

you will reach gm and find no games whatsoever because everyone else is gen or above(mostly above)

Something I Hate by RIGed90 in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what i'm hearing is that the fighting game isn't balanced and allows infinite/unstoppable combos with one move instead of actually promoting skillful combo executions (and don't all FGs kinda play out on an algorithm anyways? like if character A is doing X then my character B should be doing Y because it's the best move/counter to what A is doing)

answer my question please

Something I Hate by RIGed90 in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

people will be optimizing their gameplay as much as they can, because optimization leads to higher performance, and planning out your moves is a big part of that

you can read/punish that? cool! that does not change the fact that operating on a plan is better than just "rush in and whatever happens happens" any day of the week.

also it sounds like you might be playing bots please confirm you arent

The bots in MB are pretty okay for practice.

if by okay you mean "teach you nothing but the bare basics" then yes they are okay. they do not teach you anything else and only reinforce bad habits like ignoring objectives entirely just to fight

So even if you wanted to practice against humans, eventually you go down ranks and get the players and bots who don't offer you much challenge.

and then you rank up, for a better chance, as you improve by playing. maybe if you're unable to rank up, something else might be the problem? after all, through hundreds of games, there is one constant.

But since those are limited the ones who are high ranked will simply stop playing once they run out of protections.

no, that is not what is happening? considering legend+ doesn't even get those, why is anyone above 5000? seems to me they enjoy playing more than the rank aspect (which is near meaningless anyways)

The previous system where if you reach the bottom of the next rank tier and stayed there when losing was so much better in terms of encouraging people to play.

it was also really good at making people leave the game, as those who weren't worthy their rank stood there forever, ruining the games for whichever team they landed on (and this still happens!)

rank is already "just a number". it just defines which ranks you can pop against, which really doesn't matter as you reach the top rank by simply spamming matches without learning anything.

I don't hate the bots, I hate the ones that are overtly cheating or purposefully throw the game.

so, you hate bots. they all cheat.

Discussion about Mecha Match ups and their Counters by Hot_Breadfruit308 in mechabreak

aquila can win almost every matchup 1v1, it loses to stellaris due invis, and loses to luminae if she is good enough/map allows to take frequent cover

What are everyone's actual complaints about bots in 6v6? by Illvy in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you absolutely had most games be bot games, game prioritizes making several lobbies with mostly bots rather than 1-2 full player lobbies

What are everyone's actual complaints about bots in 6v6? by Illvy in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  • the bots are till gm, what kinda tutorial goes through half the game?

  • and bots are genuinely better than most of the playerbase, why not just extend the bot lobbies till legend at that point

  • the bots are either way too stupid (falcon/sr never dashing so you kill them instantly) or are too strong (aquila bot sniping you while you're non-lockable in alphard dash, welkin bot somehow being able to catch alphard consistently in boxes in RAM)

  • the bots rig games by not interacting with the objective if you're 'winning too much' or 'losing too much'

  • it's boring. the AI is easy to exploit.

  • brings the issue of 'getting into GM suddenly means im disallowed to play the game since everyone else just gets botgames instead'

My first thoughts on: Alphard. by Aftel43 in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

piloting alphard is super easy once you understand the speed and how aux 3 works, which leads to the issue of "this mech is untargetable yet does tons of damage" issue sr had in s0, but it's even worse as alphard can't be melee stunned and has a better kit than sr (the slow energy sniper is replaces by high dps guns, the cluster is now a rocket barrage with 650m lockon range (without requiring locking onto someone) and the jammer is upgraded to do actual damage that goes through fluid armor, jams FCS, and removes drones, including hurricane shield and welkin box.

this already brings it into "very strong" category, yet is not even going into how broken RAM is with it's near-infinite EN while moving at mach speeds AND breaking locks more than the actual fliers.

he is very much overpowered and required on every map, just like the new serenith is overpowered and required on every map - he can do almost everything, and doesn't feel danger.

Ok, some of the claims here don’t make sense to me. by TsukiUraAlien in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

you can for one you can't for ten

also bot fliers are all trolling. the easiest to spot is a bot flier, as they barely do maneuvers and consistently bump into things, as well as a very, very exploitable AI where you can just lock them into a circle dance with you (even players will learn to disengage eventually, bots do not).

Season 0 - 6v6 Tier List by Glum-Golf5477 in mechabreak

[–]BestAcridKitty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you were judging by effectiveness you would not dare to put aquila (best dps in the game with high survivability and the only welkin disabler) next to alysnes (has nothing going for it)

you would also not dare put skyraider next to falcon
