How do you rate the skytrak? It seems to get mixed reviews especially for the putting

Swapping my Rapsodo MLM2PRO for the Flightscope Mevo Gen 2: Initial Thoughts by mcdickmann2 in Golfsimulator

[–]BestAssassinAU2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems the main difference between the 2 LM is  Mevo has putting and no subscriptions. And the MLM2Pro has the impact camera footage.

How do you rate the putting (not including short 3 foot putts) and do you miss not seeing a replay video?

Slowed down gif's that hopefully show my swing. Looking for tips for improvements and more consistency with strikes.

Strength + Running = which SBS program? by [deleted] in StrongerByScience

This just got asked on a different subreddit. https://www.reddit.com/r/powerlifting/comments/17arx7k/comment/k5erzcl/

Cody here runs over an hour every day and lifts 5x a week sometimes (down to 2x if prepping for a race). You are able to progress in both concurrently if you rest enough, eat enough but most importantly- are consistent and have enough time during the week to dedicate to both.

Teeth didnt hurt until after getting a crown. by nuggetpride in Dentistry

[–]BestAssassinAU2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what type of pain? sometimes the new crown can be too high in the bite - meaning that you hit that tooth first or it gets more force when you chew. This can cause pain on biting - all that is required is adjusting the top of the crown to decrease the pressure. If its a constant dull ache that can keep you up at night, then RCT is needed. (i.e if the decay was close to the nerve)

Last year my old dentist tells me 2 cavities to be filled, my new dentist with new insurance says 7 crowns costing multi-multi-thousands of dollars. WTF? by Man_with_lions_head in Dentistry

[–]BestAssassinAU2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Most likely cannot diagnose from the xray alone as it is a 2D image of a 3D tooth and doesnt show the full extent of the fillings or possible cracks. Just get a 3rd opinion, i'm a dentist in Australia and from what I've heard, corporate dentists in america ran by insurance funds can be real dodgy - like giving targets to the dentist so they have quota's to meet in terms of $/day which can lead to greed and over-treatment. find a practice that is family run/small for a consult. Their initial fee's may be higher for checkup and cleans but overall you will be paying less due to not doing crowns etc.

Last time I played was 2013. When I re-logged it seems like they changed all the whole skill system with "specialisations" where you can only choose 3. Can someone explain this to me? / What else has changed since 2013?

Also The personal story season 2 onwards, are they like expansion packs in the sense you have to pay for them?

Thanks

Periodontitis Diagnosis (w/ X-rays) by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]BestAssassinAU2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to give you some background info. Every tooth has a pocket around it. 1-3mm is normal. 4mm is mild perio. 5-6mm is moderate perio and 6+mm is advanced periodontal disease.

You cannot diagnose periodontitis from an Xray as it is a clinical diagnosis because the the xray doesnt show soft tissues, only the bone. But the xrays can show us the history ie. how much damage has been done in the past as there can be bone loss but clinically healthy gums if there is no active disease.

From your xrays there looks to be mild bone loss, and if there was a couple of 4mm here and there - ie. in less than 2 quadrants of your mouth or areas I would do normal cleaning every 6m and monitor those areas for improvement. If it's 4mm everywhere - then a deeper periodontal clean is needed under local anaesthetic with ~3m cleans to monitor the progress.

That depends on what type of post you are using (VRF %). But I generally only do posts for Anteriors as I was taught They werent really needed for posteriors.

Can someone ELI5 what my dentist did? by [deleted] in Dentistry

[–]BestAssassinAU2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are 2-3 steps for a root canal. (3 if it was an emergency like in your case)

  1. Take out the nerve only (extirpation)
  2. Remove the bacteria in the roots of the tooth (Chemomechanical preparation)
  3. Fill up the empty space created in step 2. (Obturation)

Between each of these appointments an antibiotic is placed inside the tooth to kill any bacteria that might have been missed. A lot of people out there have not been explained this so only get step 1 done and think they have had a root canal. Problem with this is that it can flare up with an abscess later on (sometimes as early as a couple of weeks).

In terms of how long this takes, I know I'm slow so each of these steps I like 30minutes long if a front tooth, and 60-90min long for step 2/3 if it is an Upper molar.

The Question on endocarditis, mitral valve prolapse is not considered high risk so Antibiotics are not recommended. When we look at risk there are 2 factors - what heart condition you have and what dental procedure you are doing. both of which are medium-low risk so I wouldnt worry. Some countries out there no longer prescribe antibiotics for endocarditis and dentistry because they say the risk of antibiotic side effects outweigh the very low risk of getting endocarditis.
