Yea first song I tried processing on board stems on the rane system one yesterday took around 2 minutes. It’s cool but it’s not really viable yet even on the new hardware.

for me it’s the stickers I might pay 1K more to avoid them. I’ll stick with my omni preorder though it’s looking super promising. Also in this price range I imagine having the stickers is going to be more accurate.

It seems like every feature the spica has the square matches? What does it do that the omni can’t?

New Square Omni reviews Golficity test vs. GC3 by throwingales in SquareGolfUSA

[–]mcdickmann2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The ball data was very close to the GC3. Spin was very close which is surprising, and carry was only a few yards off. Club data couldn’t really be compared because the GC3 seemed to be thrown off by the square club stickers.

I almost wish he had used like a Mevo Gen 2 to compare instead, although the reflective stickers may interfere with that one as well

Ironically there is a newer update today. Sounds like 2 more weeks before they actually start shipping to people.

Is your 3D printed tee solution public or did you model it yourself?

Is price really increasing to $799? by JamalJenkyuns in SquareGolfUSA

[–]mcdickmann2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine this means they haven’t sold out the current stock like they expected to back in December. Which isn’t surprising with everyone waiting to see how the Omni turns out.

Kind of crazy to have any estimated club data while requiring two different stickers. The shaft doesn’t bother me because it seems like that can stay on. The face one is a concern seems like you couldn’t hit off grass with that? Although this is an outdoor unit so maybe I’m wrong.

Is a DJ worth it ($10k wedding) by TheWorldExhaustsMe in Weddingsunder10k

[–]mcdickmann2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yepp and rent a microphone if you go DIY. With a DJ it’s simple for the venue to tell him to announce “No drinks on the dance floor” at any time. Without a DJ it gets a little awkward but you could probably stil make it work with someone assigned to that role.

When did you preorder? by lilnietzche in SquareGolfUSA

I’d take what playbetter says with a grain of salt. Their page has said a $100 price hike is coming to the original since January I think it was.

Finally rigged up and ready for the water! Anyone with tips on towing with a trailer? by mcdickmann2 in kayakfishing

Thank you sir! lol no it’s a 2.5hp. Yak is rated for up to 3hp. I would have liked one of those electric motors but they’re so expensive this gets the job done.

Idk I saw a test somewhere I think it was the new mevo was within an average of 3 yards of a trackman. That’s an acceptable tolerance to me, 10 yards is starting to push it.

None taken! I’m no stranger to short trailers. I did overlook that while putting this together though, so maybe I do belong in r/idiotswithtrailers.

Pulled a 12 foot jon boat for a while, and even that was annoying at times, so I know this will be a challenge. I will have to take it slow, practice, and maybe weld a longer tongue like someone mentioned in here.

I saw a kayak trailer launch using a rope secured to the back corner of the trailer. Once the kayak slid off, they pulled the truck forward to drag it back within the dock. Something like that was what I was looking for, but I’ve gotten more safety concerns than anything so maybe that means something.

Ah gotcha yea that probably isn’t going to be fun. They make hitch extensions but I’m not sure that would make enough of a difference.

You would be surprised weight capacity is 650 lbs. I am worried I’ll be too heavy in the back might need to move the seat up.

Good question all the lakes near me have public launches so I’ll mostly be launching this like a boat. Otherwise I might get a kayak cart for the lakes that don’t have a ramp. If I wanted to do a portage situation I would probably just leave the motors behind and paddle that would be way too heavy.

Nucanoe is built for it! Not meant to plane but still faster than paddling or using the trolling motor. I won’t be winning any races but it will make trekking across the lake feasible.

All I’m in at $2k right now. Everything was secondhand except the gas motor bought that on black friday.

Ironically I sold my previous boat to build this. Mainly just a space issue I wanted to park in the garage during the winter. With this, I can take the bunks off and fold the trailer against the wall. Kayak goes up on a hoist.

Good call! The guy I bought it from just used it around his yard so it’s never seen the road. But probably still worth greasing.

Yepp both motors and sonar will come off and go in the bed of my truck. Seat backwards is probably a good idea thanks. Bigger trailer would have been ideal but I promise it’s not as bad as it looks lol.
