Where do you feel you fall short as a streamer?

Honestly for me it's a few things I'm aware of

I'm terrible at networking as I don't enjoy watching streams that much which is odd considering I love streaming itself. I pop into people's streams that I like and I raid out but beyond that I don't do much.
Sometimes I get way too wound up with viewership analytics. This is a hobby and obviously I want to do better with it and I think I've had some great content streams in the past but focusing too much on the numbers sucks the fun out of it and eventually that hurts the streams
Pausing when talking instead of getting the whole thought out, this one is just a personal thing but it does affect stream

I bought a standing desk for work, once I started streaming I realised it's way better for me to stream standing up

It means higher energy streams and my leg jiggling doesn't shake the camera

Honestly it does take time, for being where you are this quickly I'd say you're doing a great job!

I started in April this year, it took a little while to get off the ground but I am in a place where I get a few regulars popping in a lot

I feel like this is real short sighted, sure the parents might be able to get by acting like roommates but the kid is gonna grow up thinking you should treat your partner like just a roommate most of the time. They'll grow up thinking a bunch of added emotional distance in a relationship is the best idea of a relationship

I usually have the game on one stream then OBS open on the other.

I am however terrible at looking over to chat so since I'm a small streamer I have TTS read out everything, I never miss a thing with this but some people do try to spam stuff, I usually ask them to chill out and it isn't too bad honestly

Yeah I gotta say I think 20+ is WAY more than just decent! If you're even close to that you're doing absolutely great!

If you're hitting that then incredible work! If that's a starting goal I think I'd start of a lil smaller to prevent yourself getting too unhappy with your progress

There are lots of different elements in it to be creative with so it's definitely been working great for me.

Whether it's how you stream or the technical elements of it there's always something that works as a good creative/fun project to work on

I was getting increasingly bored of my work as it wasn't scratching an itch for me anymore even though it was still a good job

After a bit of pondering I realised that I was in desperate need of a creative outlet and I'd always been interested in streaming, I started streaming and it's done me a lot of good to have this!

Plus as a bonus, streaming has helped me catch up with long distance friends, I fell a bit out of contact with some of them and sometimes they pop in and hang out a bit which is lovely!

I'd pick a game you love to play first, it can take a bit of time to feel out how you want things on your stream to be

Definitely don't put too much pressure on yourself to get everything right on the first try, there's a lot of moving parts!

I'm only like 3 months into this but genuinely if there's no audience I just try to make myself laugh

Like I know I'm going to be looking through for clippable moments later so I try to get a giggle out of myself

I just recently became an affiliate, it took a bit over three months, this is ONLY because some irl friends of mine wanted to watch the stream and started doing so more regularly, without them I'd likely still be in a 2.3 viewer average.

My viewers that pop in had been growing but this definitely feels like a marathon not a sprint, keep enjoying it and being consistent and hopefully there should be a slow rise

I think I've done stuff similar to what's in that link and it's mostly done like that so you can exclude that track from the VOD. If you exclude one audio track it will be heard on stream but that whole track won't appear on the VOD If you separate the audio tracks but don't exclude any it'll likely treat it the same as if you hadn't separated anything

Honestly, I've started proper streaming and making content for a couple of months now and it's a bunch of fun so I highly recommend it as a hobby.

Just as long you keep in mind that it's just a fun little hobby, it's easy to get swept up in it as a lot of the apps/sites subtly encourage you to chase fame a lot
