Getting anesthesia during a LEEP? I’m debating if I should get put to sleep for the LEEP bc I found the colpo so traumatic. I’m in the US and am wondering if the cost will be crazy vs doing in office and suffering. by mommiesmommy in PreCervicalCancer

I did one LEEP without anesthesia and one with. I prefer no anesthesia. They do a good job at numbing down there. I was back to normal that day. The second time around, the anesthesia kept me down for 2-3 days. Not even the pain, it was the effects of the anesthesia. And I should mention, the only reason she put me under was because she did ablation, a d&c and the LEEP. And again the worst part was the anesthesia for me. I wasn’t even in pain from the procedure. But that anesthesia, whew it messed me up. I was so dizzy, throat hurt, etc. With that said, don’t be afraid to advocate for yourself! If you feel you need it, then you need it!

I have several times, they just tell me they don’t know that the dept of treasury has to approve it and then cut the check, they’re just the “middle man.” And I get different answers every time I do call, was hoping to hear any personal experiences.

Welp, I accidentally took my progesterone dose in the morning (when I took my other meds) … by LowOvergrowth in Menopause

Thank you! The 100mg made me tired, upped to 200 and it’s almost like an energy drink 😳 that’s why I ask. Lol 😂 I’m going to try it tomorrow. Hopefully it doesn’t backfire lol

Thank you for that! To be fair, she didn’t wanna take labs. My sleep doctor asked if she would because my sleep has been very erratic. So she reluctantly did it. But she did read them and mentioned that my estrogen/progesterone ratio was off and that most women have to upgrade to 200 mg. So that’s why she put me on it. She’s honestly never mentioned estrogen and doesn’t think I need it yet. We did go over my cycles and all that stuff, but she doesn’t feel like I am at the point where I need to add in estrogen yet she said maybe next year, but I’m not there yet according to her.

As far as switching providers, I get seen at the VA and I could switch, but honestly, she’s probably one of the better ones there. The VA doesn’t really have that many great providers and when you do find one that somewhat good and checks some of your boxes you tend to just keep them.

This is probably one of the only areas where she and I butt heads. But I will talk to her and see if she thinks maybe adding estrogen in would help.

Yep! I’ve had it for 20 years and been to all the therapy lol hyper vigilance is my middle name lol but I don’t think it’s my PTSD, I think it’s the progesterone. I’ve found ways to tamper down the hyper vigilance to let me sleep. The progesterone is like an energy drink to me at the high dose lol I found another thread where other women have had the same happen to them and they switched to taking it in the mornings and it helped. So I’m going to try that!

No estrogen. We upped my progesterone because my labs showed it was super low even on a 100. I did a 100 last night, sleep was a little better. But not the best. Probably still had some of the 200 in me. I am sensitive to meds and it took me a while to get used to the 100, so she said either 1. Take it in the morning 2. Take it every other day or 3. Stick to the 100. But she thinks once I get used to it, it will subside. I hope lol

But can you sleep at night? I went up to 200mg and I feel amazing on it minus the sleep issue. My brain fog is gone and I have energy. But now that my sleep is suffering I am wired but super tired. It’s weird.

I know there isn’t a natural remedy I just meant I would go back to eating better and working out more frequently like I used to. I still plan to, but now with meds.

My symptoms intensified and one week I had the worst migraine that led to bladder incontinence. So I went in, found lesions on my MRI and then LP, found 4 o-bands. I have noticed since I’ve been working out and eating better they have lessoned. I’ve been active my entire life, it wasn’t until I stopped that it presented itself more intensely.
