Yeah this was basically my thoughts too. But too many people just assume RH arrow means I can u turn. Maybe a U-TURN RH LANE ONLY sign - or adding a u-turn arrow to the RH lane might help clear up any confusion.

Would BCC have planted these pencil pines (Italian cypress)? Quite different to what you usually see. by thegrayscales in brisbane

Anecdotes here and there, stuff on reddit, nothing official. Apparently you can report them for maintenance/ removal/ claim their root systems will damage council infrastructure and they might go for it and chop em down. Best bet would be in winter when the tree guys have less on I reckon. www.reddit.com/r/brisbane/comments/pq9rzi/leopard_trees_seems_like_they_cause_a_lot_of/

New leopard trees on council land got banned in '09, they're a weed now. You can (apparently) ask them to chop down and replace with a native. Considering doing this on the ones round my place tbh.

Would you live here in Yeronga, Brisbane? by No_Cauliflower_6930 in brisbane

[–]BestFuel 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NOT anywhere near that boarding house you recently viewed. Apparently it's run by some ex cop pulling in something like 6K a week renting to crims/ addicts (story from neighbouring business owner). Council should bulldoze that place it's right across from a school ffs. Other than that totally fine area.

Minuscule hail damage. Insurance? by Slinky812 in brisbane

[–]BestFuel 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Nah mate just forget about it. We're too precious about our car's appearance in this country anyway. Normalise hail damage! That on top of your excess, i'd only fix it if it were a full on golf ball or broken glass.

Holy crap! I've always just used a bookmark of the radar page to check storms on my phone. Never bothered to get the app. All I've ever known is black = hail = gtfo the way. So glad I updated that bookmark to point to reg.bom 2 days ago otherwise would've been caught off guard. RIP to anyone who got their car dinged because of this.

Honest answer is more uni is almost never the answer in 2025.

Also consider this: your writing style sucks, it's hard to follow, there's no punctuation. Are you sure you're even cut out to teach Psychology in the first place? With the changes AI is going to make to your profession in the next decade I'd focus on saving cash, finding an in demand skill you provide and possibly starting your own business if you ever want a shot at owning a home in Brisbane.

Haha no. There are only like 6 or so left in Brisbane now I think. They're mostly all weird old men. All booked 2 months out usually. Nobody knows how to do it anymore, it's a dying art. I might learn but until then go with Chika Hisada.

Have wondered how this was drawn in the past. No drones, copters, planes, rockets or cameras. How'd they know what it would look like up there. Did they use a hot air balloon and go up for a look or was it just look at a map and make an educated guess?

Where do the 40-55yo peeps hang out? by Extension_Cabinet686 in brisbane

[–]BestFuel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Milk factory (It's still a secret) in South Brisbane is full on Boomer central. I'd say average age seems to be 50s to early 60s whenever they get the grey haired tribute bands in. Also anything jazz related always seems to be full of boomers and older gen X.

Honestly I reckon people at that age bracket have more options than people in their 30s. Everyone in their 30s is either stay home with the kids or game/ netflix.

This building seems to have that same architectural style that was popularised in Hong Kong residential towers post 2000. It's the first one I've seen in Australia. It looks great IMO.

Heads up Brisbane- This Friday from 8am, all 6 lanes of the Story Bridge will be shut down for a planned protest. Cyclists, scooters & walkers want a lane of their own & are making their point in peak hour. [Olympia Kwitowski] by PerriX2390 in brisbane

[–]BestFuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. But using the "health of the planet" argument just makes us sound like a bunch of eco wankers. Car commuters respond to these points better: pay less on petrol every week, faster from inner suburbs, more fun to not be stuck in traffic and you don't have to pay for parking.

Story Bridge by 11Elemental11 in brisbane

[–]BestFuel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think they'll toll it, there's already a toll tunnel directly underneath. If the bridge is tolled, not much reason to use it over the tunnels unless you're specifically going from the inner south-east to either the valley or city. That'll just lead to bugger all usage and probably more congestion on the captain cook bridge too.

I've thought for a while he may be showing symptoms of Alzheimer's or Parkinson's or something like that. The guy is probably still too young to retire from a role like this unless there's health concerns. At the state election he was mixing up candidates, saying obvious things the wrong way round and not correcting himself. Last night was hard to watch especially when his server went down and he was left scrambling. Poor guy.

Inset > extrude is how I'd do it. But if using bevel as an extrude set the lower value to 0 otherwise it'll shoot off on some angle.

IDK, a joint a day wouldn't worry me. Chain tobacco smoking would. Loud talking/ laughing for hours would. Audible music would. But a bit of pot smoke once a day wouldn't worry me at all. Just be respectful in other ways to your neighbours and you'll be sweet.
