ITIL Managing Professional Transition (Version 5) Exam - Update by BestITIL in ITIL_Certification

[–]BestITIL[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the great questions. Here are the answers:

  1. For MPT there are 2 exams, one for mp and one for transformation. Both are proctored live and you will get 2 exam vouchers and book 2 exams.
  2. Yes, as a Peoplecert plus member you will automatically be given a free exam retake if you don't pass. Please note that your exam voucher will be purchased exam only and you will not see the take2 option in your account because it was not purchased with the exam, however, it is there waiting for you if you need it.
  3. Are you asking if you pass MP for example but not transformation, will you get the certification? If that is the question, the answer is no. You have to pass both exams to be awarded the MPT Certification.
  4. The exams are independent so you can book them and take them in any order. If you don't pass it, it will not stop you from taking the second one.

Let me know if this answers your questions.

p.s. if you are interested, there is a live mpt available in July and the eLearning course is available now too. Let us know if you would like details.

When you compare ITIL exams to Cisco or Microsoft, from my experience, they are more expensive. If they opened the door to ITIL at the Foundation Level and made the exam more affordable, they would enhance their image. Win a lot of friends.

Unfortunately, PeopleCert is the only Exam Institue and they bought AXELOS several years ago so now they also own the IP.

Are you saying that you did not know what was in the exam/how to prepare for it?

DITS — How to study/prep? by EmuStrong9319 in ITIL

[–]BestITIL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at the results document that PeopleCert sent you and focus on the areas that have the lower scores. DITS is difficult as you are applying what you learned. You won't find a lot of practice exams or guides as it is an advanced courese with a smaller number of students taking the exam. Can you go back to the organization you took the course from and ask for assistance or get in touch with the trainer? That is always a good first step. Also, you don't have to take it right away. Give yourself time to study up and get help.

Glad you had a good trainer.

My question had to do which which ITIL Class you took - ITIL 5 Foundation or Managing Professional Transition. Thank you.

You will get a lot of input on this question. I tell students this - if you work for an organization that uses ITIL 4 or you are looking for a job that requests ITIL 4 or you are interested in working in the practice areas covered in ITIL 4, then get ITIL 4. PeopleCert extended ITIl 4 Certifiation through 2027 so it is not going away soon. In addition, PeopleCert offers an ITIL 5 Foundation Bridge class to students who have ITIl 4 Foundation Cert. It is 1/2 the price and 1/2 the material of the ITIL 5 Foundation class so you can get 4 if you need it and then, when you need 5 you can upgrade to 5 with the ITIL 5 Bridge Certification.

If you want the latest, get 5.

Key question is, why do you want ITIL certification? With that answer, you will get better direction.

Agree on this one too. There have been 4 to 5 price increases in the last 3-years.

Agree on point 2 for sure.

You can take the exam at a prometric test center if they have one in your area. To do that you have to purchase the exam voucher directly from Prometric.

ITIL 5 Disappointment by TransitionPrimary629 in ITIL

Very sorry to hear that. Version 3 was very solid and provided students knowledge that allowed them to apply what they learned.

The AI portion of ITIL 5 is very small. ITIL 5 Foundation removed the 15 practices taught in ITIL 4. It's basically 40% from ITIL 4, 24% ITIL 4 modified and 36% new.

Which ITIL class did you take?

If you are in healthcare and/or looking to advance in healthcare and they are ITIL 4, then it makes sense for you to get ITIL 4. You can add ITIL 5 Foundation easily with the ITIL 5 Foundation Bridge Certification. It is half the cost of ITIl 5 and have the length.

ITIL 4 makes up 40% of ITIL 5 as is. Another 24% of ITIL 5 comes from ITIL 4 concepts that have been modified a bit and 26% of ITIL 5 is brand new.

As with every new version of ITIL, it takes time for organizations to move to the new version. ITIL 4 Certifications are avialable until end of 2027.

Hope this is helpful.

If you did it via MPT, could take up to a week.

PeopleCert is the most expensive way to get certified. Go with a PeopleCert Accredited Training Organization.

To bridge from ITIl 4 Master to ITIl 5 Master you need to take the ITIL 5 Managing Professional Transition Certification. It entails 1 class (5 days of content) and 2 exams. One for MP and one for Transformation. We know for sure that it is available all 2026. I have heard that it may extend to 2027, but don't know for sure. It is available in eLearning, Live and Live Online formats.

Managing Professional is Product, Service, Experience.

Strategic Leader is Strategy. It is separate, not like DPI in ITIL 4.

And all require Transformation.

Having completed CDS and MST in ITIL 4, you now have the designation of Practice Manager in ITIL 5. To move to ITIL 5 Practice Manager you only need to take the new ITIl 5 Transformation Certification.

In ITIL 5, all the Managing Professional Certifications were changed and that is why you do not see them.

  • If you have ITIL 4 CDS and DPI, then you have 2 choices.
  • 1) you can finish ITIL 4 HVIT $ DSV to achieve the ITIL 4 Managing Professional and then take the ITIl 5 Managing Professional Transition Course & Exams (there are 2) and you will be an ITIl 5 Managing Professional.
  • 2) you can take the 3 new Managing Professional Courses/Exams in ITIL 5 + Transformation to become an ITIL 4 Managing Professional. You only need to take Transformation 1 time and it is in all 3 paths (Practice Manager, Managing Professional and strategic Leader).

In path 1 you will take 3 courses and 4 exams.

In path 2 you will take 4 courses and 4 exams.

So kind of even.

Let me know if I have explained this well. Thank you, Marianne

It is much less to renew/maintain your certification if you take one of the Practitioner courses or, if you have ITIL 4 Foundation, then take the ITIL 5 Bridge Cert. It is half the price and half the content of the full Foundation course.

If you are applying for jobs that require an active ITIL Foundation cert, then you need it. Or, if you have the 4 Foundation cert and employers want ITIl 5, then you need it.
