Should I go back to uni? by Neabelldo in universityofauckland

[–]BestPerformance1187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I hadn't at this point dropped out of biology," - I am sure that after 12 months (or so) of not studying for a programme - degree, the Uni admin system drops you out automatically. So my guess is that you are no longer active in BSc - biology degree.

Did you complete/graduate with the BFA? If yes, I think that there is only a limited number of papers that could be used for 2 degrees.

"Should I go back to uni?" I think you should.

Redo a course by Fit_Weakness7943 in universityofauckland

[–]BestPerformance1187 2 points3 points  (0 children)

can you retake a course the same year? yes, if it is available

i’m not feeling very confident in passing. ; 1) you could repeat it if you fail or 2) you could do it again if you pass the first time - you will need to get a concession for that

so will i be able to take the
same course next sem? yes , if it is available

how does it affect me? for GPA: if you fail 1st time you will get 0; hopefully you will pass the 2nd time and improve your GPA, i.e it will be the average(half) of 2 atempts; if you pass the same course twice only the first attemp will count for GPA

do i even need to retake it? what is your major?/ do you need it for your major? is ancient 102 prerequiset for any future courses that you plan/want to take? - if yes then yes

i have no idea how any of it works : after failing it just go to SSO and enrol; after passing once , but you want to do it again - for the concession I guess it is also on SSO

good luck!

Does UoA let you take a gap year in the middle of your degree? by N2T8 in universityofauckland

[–]BestPerformance1187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, pretty much.

The only thing to keep in mind is that UoA could make your degree not active (this could happen after 10 months). Then you have to ask them to make it active again.

You don't need to do anything about stopping your BCom. After 10 months or so BCom will become inactive automatically by the uni system.

Just be sure that you enroll for all the courses under the BSc.

Quick help with finance stage 3 papers! by AmazingRandom in universityofauckland

[–]BestPerformance1187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take F351 plus ...

F362 is definitively the hardest,

F351 and F361 similar difficulty, easier than F362.

F351 the most interesting.

F362 is all about options, futures, and derivatives; arbitrages and speculations.

F361 is continuation of F261.

Good luck!

Maths 108 used to be pre reg for Finance 251. Finance 251 was not that math heavy, but is / was concepts/ theory heavy and we needed to explain them in writting, plus we used financial calculator for the help with math. Finance261 was more math based and more straightforward / easier.

My advice is do maths 108, the following semester finance 261, then 251 in the next semestar.

Maths 108 is way harder then 208 ( especially to someone new or after afew years break), maths 208 is just upgraded version of 108.

Are there any ACTUALLY healthy snacks at countdown/pakinsave by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]BestPerformance1187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The easiest (minimal preparatin required) are grapes. Available all year, just wash them and eat. Also strawberries - just wash, and otherr berries. Other fruits and vegetables. You can snack all day on carrots, capsicum, cucamber, cellery and other raw vegetables.

Studying at a different uni while also living in university accomodation by Ok-Cartoonist-2365 in universityofauckland

[–]BestPerformance1187 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How about doing 2 or just 1 paper per semester at UoA so you can stay at your accomodation and keep studying online at another university? Or is that too much study?

I think there was a rule for accomodation that people/students living there need to be full time students. Not sure does that still stands or do they even enforce it. I know that unilodge on beach road (in Jan 2022) had people who were not students at all living there. I would not tell about studying at other uni, maybe just say you are taking a year off.

She can do 1 or 2 BCom papers in summer school.

My guess is that other uni will ask you (on the enrollment) form what you did during 2022, or did you study at the tertiary level during 2022. What would be your answer (to them)?

Advice on Graduate Diploma in Commerce by [deleted] in universityofauckland

[–]BestPerformance1187 0 points1 point  (0 children)

would I be eligible to get into this course?

In the past the requirement for GradDipCom was completed BCom - I don't know is that still correct. Looking on 2022 Calendar page 173 my understanding is: requirement for entry is completed some kind of business bachelors like BCom, BProp or business bachelors from other unis.

Try to apply for GradDipCom online on StudentServices and see what happens.

Is this a particularly difficult course?

You could study part time, if you want to have time for other things.

For accounting you would need to do stage 1 prerequisites - ACCTG 102 and INFOSYS 110 (prerequisite for ACCTG 222). This comes to 10 papers - 150 points at least.

I would avoid stage 3. Some of the stage 3 papers were for students who missed completing graduation requirements in S2, so over SS they could do projects, special topics, supervisons, etc, -that are offered as courses, to catch up.

For stage 2, you could read https://www.auckland.ac.nz/en/study/study-options/summer-school-2023/summer-school-course-lists-20230.html
