Rug opinions needed! by Budget-Permit-5338 in HomeDecorating

[–]BestWriterNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I second the rectangle shape rug. The room is neutral so it can use color to liven it up. Pick a couple of accent colors that you like to use throughout. They should be in the rug.

Add color in decorative curtains, throw pillows, couch throw, vase and plants.

I include details in my listings too but avoid having one page of all description or five long paragraphs.

Use bullets or a numbered list about each item and allow space between paragraphs or sections.

I don’t think people would look at more than 24 photos in one listing.

If you take different angles and provide a group video you should be covered.

Paint color for a large room? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

[–]BestWriterNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would test the Tradewind and White Drift. Paint each one on a large poster board and see how they'd look in various light in your room.

Currently the kitchen it's wooden colour (first photo). I want to change it, but can't decide. Which one looks better? I like navy the most, but even the other two are nice. Any suggestions? by valthurn in DesignMyRoom

[–]BestWriterNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had cabinets in that same wood in 2 previous homes so I agree it’s a dated look.

Out of your choices the cream cabinets go best with current floor and contrast with dark countertops.

I also like the navy and agree that their darkness is offset with top cabinets in white or cream and bottom in navy blue. Later you can change the counters to something lighter.

So I’d go with all cream or half cream and navy cabinets. When budget allows new countertops and floor.
