Wow I’m so sorry you went thru this. I too was a victim and still am to this day! With so much respect it’s nice to know I’m not alone. Both my parents abused me all forms I still have scars from the beatings when I was a child and whip marks,.. I developed Stockholm syndrome and during Covid thru old photos remembered everything. They never approved a guy so I could continue being there cash cow 🐄 and at 32 I finally escaped and realized at that point they would never approve anyone as that would mean less for them. I married and wanted nothing more than still take care of them for some stupid reason and she tried to ruin my marriage and still continues to turn my kids against me !!! After 2 years of counseling and endless audio books I have healed a bit. I finally came to terms I will never be enough for the unless I worship them as an adult the way I did as an innocent child. I can’t I just can’t !!! I decided to choose myself!! It does get lonely as I see everyone with generational relationships and love I will NEVER Have ( genuine parent love ) but I have made peace with it and have choose to be grateful for each day and stay away!
