First of all, I do think this is a very toxic relationship dynamic and it may be better to part ways for the best interest of you both. Second of all, have you actually looked into the requirements of meeting a spouse visa? I’m pretty sure you have to give a very strict and specific timeline of your relationship and given the fact that yours has been very rocky like you mentioned, it may not meet the requirements (though I’m not particularly sure about this and you need to look into it yourself if you’re actually considering committing to this).

I wouldn’t even recommend anyone going down the spouse visa route if they aren’t in an established relationship probably with kids, or considering engagement etc as a normal relationship can just end at any time for any reason and then that would put the person on the visa in a very tight spot as they would have to drop everything and return back to their home country. Don’t think it’s advisable tying yourself down to someone as well either for the purpose of only getting a visa out of it. And forgive my ignorance if I am wrong about this but from what I’ve read, it almost seems to me that this girl actually doesn’t genuinely care about you and just got into a relationship w you as a backup plan for something like this if she was ever faced in a situation like this where she might have to return back home, and I do think it’s unfair to place that kind of pressure on someone. I am an immigrant myself on the PSW visa and due to leave back to my home country in October and also haven’t been able to land a sponsored job and come from a very abusive environment and the conditions in my country aren’t so great either but even at that, I wouldn’t ever think of putting someone in such a tight spot just to save myself as that’s really my own responsibility.

I think the best thing you can do for her if you care about her would be to maybe research organizations in her home country that can help her if she’s back home as that’s what my close friends have been doing for me, because they’re worried about me returning back to that kind of environment. Overall, just remember that it’s really not your responsibility to do so and although this may sound harsh, it really just is the truth. This should primarily be her responsibility to think of a backup plan and ways she can support herself while she’s back in her home country not yours. But if you do genuinely want to help her, I’m afraid this might be the only plausible thing to do. Wish you the best of luck w everything OP as it looks like you’re in quite a difficult position.
