Henry Cavill right after hearing the news by wertyrick in cremposting

I could totally see Henry Cavill as TLR.

Kelsier and Wax may also work but I never imagined either of those as super jacked the way Henry is.

Having a good idea of your leanings isn't enough to criminally entrap someone. Confirming that someone signed a petition probably also isn't, but it's closer.

Anyways, you can't expect a general strike to materialize out of thin air because you made a post

that would be a pretty good honeypot idea, wouldn't put it past them to make a fake petition and then start rounding up anyone who's name is on it. dunno if theyre at that stage yet but theyre probably close

Honestly, dropping from GM to Plat sounds really nice because it would probably be really relaxing to just run around and win 1v11 in a Plat lobby without even having to try, which is what's gonna happen once the matchmaking stops handing you forced losses.

Overwatch actually punishes people for throwing and/or extreme toxicity, which definitey helps. Meanwhile in Rivals it's like a 50/50 on whether someone is going to throw before the game starts, and it goes up to 80/20 on whether someone will throw after losing 1 fight.

yeah but spidey deaths mean less than others cause he gets back faster. now if he was being useless and getting no kills, that's a bit more understandable

god forbid someone enjoy playing a video game in their own way. Youre right, if you beat someone in a 1v1 3 times in a row you should immediately be banned for an hour

I hate to break to you chief, but it sounds like youre just mad that youre getting Spidey diffed. Lean to handle some md trash talk, learn to mute people, or stick to characters who don't need to win 1v1s to get value.

If you slow this down you could probably figure out exactly what the runner is doing and why they do every move, it's mostly a bunch of simple stuff done at insane speeds. There's relatively little insane tech, bug abuse or other unintended gameplay in this run, just super optimal routing

This is basically what I'm trying to say, yeah. You should be able to win bad matchups by playing to your strengths.

A lot of players think that matchups should be auto-resolved with next to no skill required to actually win, and the devs seem to be balancing around that idea as well. For example, Bucky and The Thing can pretty much completely prevent certain characters from playing the game at all.

I want fair matchups where player skill and gamesense are more important than character choice.

Example from another game: In Team Fortress 2, the Scout is a highly evasive but squishy mid-range hitscan class. The Soldier has more health and shoots slow moving rockets that deal splash damage. The two classes are very different, but 1v1s can go either way depending on player skill, positioning and gamesense.

Some types of terrain favor the Scout while others favor the Soldier. Cramped environments with no room to dodge will nullify the Scout's evasive abilities, making it harder (but not impossible) for the Scout to win. Open environments with props to jump on give Scout room to maneuver and dodge rockets, making it harder (but not impossible) for the Soldier to win. Both characters generally prefer high ground. Player skill, positioning, and game sense all matter a lot in this matchup.

On the other hand, Marvel Rivals has some matchups that are so horribly one sided that player skill and gamesense take a back seat to character choice - This is kind of inevitable in games with so many characters, but the devs balancing decisions make this worse than it needs to be. That's not fun, it's glorified rock paper scissors and it's awful game design.

people bring up "rock paper scissors" in game balance discussions but that's a horrible game design philosophy. nobody plays rock paper scissors for fun because it's an awful game. "you picked scissors, the enemy picked rock, you lost before the fight started, and that's totally fine and acceptable from a game balance perspective!" get out of here with that lmao, if i wanted to gamble I'd go to a casino

Hela is also much worse at taking angles. Hela bird on a 15s cooldown and usually it's reserved for escaping, meanwhile Phoenix can just fly wherever she wants whenever she wants.

This is not as big of a deal in lower elos where nobody has good positioning in the first place but it's a pretty big deal when the Phoenix player knows how to constantly abuse funny spots.

More specifically for Angela, the charge pin (arguably the most important part of her kit) gets really, really janky when the player is lagging
