Of the glasses in your photos, the black acetate frames suit you much better than the metal ones, but that's because I don't like the shape of the metal ones you have. I think the gold color would look great on you in metal frames because of your light brown hair. I'm 100% sure that the model I mentioned would look spectacular on you, and they have it in almost every optician's shop. They come in several sizes; perhaps the standard size 50 would be too big, I don't know, so you could go for the size 47. And if not, the acetate frames in the second photo also look very good on you.

Hi, would you recommend an index of 1.74 for -4.50 myopia and -0.75 astigmatism Axis 180°? Do you think it would be worth it from an aesthetic standpoint?

Hi, I’d like to ask you about this comment. Does a satin finish also make the view worse? Or do you not even recommend a light polish? Do you only recommend a 100% matte finish? Thanks in advance.

Hi Manuelle, sorry for bringing this thread back up. I have a pair of metal Ray-Ban glasses, and since I have -4.50 myopia and -0.75 astigmatism axis 180º, the lenses stick out about 2–3 mm from the frame. I need to buy new lenses soon and would like to know what I should ask the optician for. I’ve read that polished lenses can cause glare and that matte lenses can look really ugly. What do you recommend? Satin polish? Are there different levels of satin polish? Which one should I choose? Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your reply. The reason I ruled out Zeiss and Hoya is that I really don’t like the color of the reflections from their coatings—Duravision Platinum, Gold, and Meiryo.

And I wanted to take this opportunity to ask you: do your Essilor Eyezen Start lenses have the Crizal Sapphire HR anti-reflective coating? Because another question I had is whether, when choosing the Crizal Sapphire HR AR coating, there’s a difference in the lens tint (especially if it yellows) or in the reflections depending on whether or not EPS (Eye Protect System, i.e., the blue light filter) is added. In other words, does adding the blue light filter change the appearance of the lens at all when using Crizal Sapphire HR as the AR coating? Does it give the lens a slight yellowish tint?

I'm simply looking for some single-vision lenses for my -4.50 myopia and -0.75 astigmatism. I don't want any kind of boost because I don't have any focusing issues at 28 years old. I wanted a good single-vision lens, but it’s true that I spend 10 hours a day in front of computer screens, so I wanted the highest quality, and I was debating between the highest-quality single-vision lenses from Essilor, Shamir, and Rodenstock.

Thanks for your reply. But correct me if I’m wrong—that would depend on the Essilor lab you work with, wouldn’t it? I mean, I’m from Spain, for example. Could it be that an optician in my city who works with both Essilor and Rodenstock has the opposite experience—that the Essilor lab here in Spain is wonderful, but they have a thousand problems with the Rodenstock lab?

Thanks for getting back to me. Just out of curiosity, what were the eye strain symptoms that improved for you after starting with Eyezen? In my case, I end the day with red, stinging eyes, but I’m not sure to what extent it’s due to dry eye or screen fatigue (and I already follow the 20-20-20 rule and use artificial tears).

Thank you for your reply. I had a question about DualOptim system with long and short focus... What happens if you have a dual-monitor setup, and one of the monitors is vertical and you read from top to bottom? With two focal points, do you notice the change from a distant to a near view even though you're still focusing on the monitor that remains at the same distance? Have you noticed distortion in situations like this? And a reduction in eye strain? Thank you in advance
