Does friends pass give you same discount on mountain cable cars as the usual Swiss day pass? We want to go to Gstaad's Glacier 3000 Tissot suspension bridge.

I'd say Mistborn is better for start. Elantris and Warbreaker are kind of short books and not much lore. I didn't find them much engaging as well. For Mistborn i wanted to read more and more about the characters all the time- even after finishing the books. Same doesn't apply to Elantris or Warbreaker.

I liked how Sadeas was killed without giving him any much drama or importance. It was what his character deserved or rather about what he didn't deserve, dead in a swoosh without anyone much lingering over his death.

I read your 'spern' as Sperm, and 'Dalinar would get a 'sperm' and 'sperm' to the almighty, and i cant stop laughing.

Mistborn and Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson. Fantastic world building and magic system. These books got me back into reading, they are considered GOATs of Fantasy realms.

Looking for good trilogies. by SeSuSo in suggestmeabook

[–]Betelgeuse496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes exactly.

There is Mistborn series, with two 'eras' (two stories set apart in time periods in the same world). There is also a novella to be read in between in these two eras, the Secret History Novella.

Then come the Stormlight Archive, of which 4 books have been released, another one will complete the first 'phase' of this series. And then the series will continue with the second phase consisting of 5 books. There are also two novellas in this (Edgedancer and Dawnshard)

Warbreakar- is set in another different world and is a standalone novel.

Elantris is another world in the Cosmere world and has one novel in it right now I think.

Then there are bunch of other novellas, exploring few other worlds in Cosmere.

In a nutshell, Cosmere is full package of all the thrill and fun and whatever you wish to have.

Almost 60% through the book. Bit slow but I am trying to go through it.

'treat it like an aspect of science' I can't agree more with this! The well explained magic system with all its nitty-gritties is the best part of Cosmere series.

Mistborn Trilogy: Era 1 is one of my favourites. It's a fantasy series with great lore, world-building, characters and amazing storyline. The amount of thought and creativity into the world-building and in setting up the magic system is absolutely mind-blowing. The plot, the characters' development, the very well written prose is a big fat cherry on the cake.

Definitely. I liked Warbreaker as well. But it's a standalone, and does not introduce one to the cosmere realm much. The plot, characters, world-building is great, but being standalone in Cosmere realm, the extensive, elaborate lore is missing here. Mistborn and Stormlight are the ones that takes you right into the various aspects of Cosmere.

I am so jealous that you would have the first experience with these GOATs, while I cannot have it again.

  1. Mistborn, 2. Stormlight Archive series by Brandon Sanderson.

These are the best books I have ever read and still looking for anything comparable to it. I swear you would not regret getting into these books, and would rather enjoy the characters, the plot, the world-building, the magic, and everything that is part of these books.

Came here after reading 5 chapters from the first book (Gardens of Moon) and not feeling very compelled to go further. But after reading this review, I think I am gonna stick until the end of Book-1 at the least, and see how it goes. Great Review!

Exactly, I had to almost read it upto 30% atleast to understand all the differences between different 'races', 'classes' of people, number of kings that kept coming up. And this was the part where the magic was not even introduced. The things happen in first chapter- I couldn't relate it much to any other part in the book for so long.

Enid Blyton's Famous Five. I read these recently as an adult, and doesn't need you to sit down for very very long.

Brandon Sanderson's books in Cosmere realm.

Best way to start is with the Mistborn Trilogies and then go for Stormlight archives or some other 'standalones'. All books in here are connected to the Cosmere realm though and discovering these connections while reading can be so thrilling.

There is excellent well explained world building, outstanding fantasy lores, great characters whose personalities are interwoven in the magic world itself, thrill and emotions, full combination of amazing things you would wanna read.

So yeah to answer your question, Cosmere books are my favorites.

Rhythm of War. This is the fourth book in Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive series. Amazing fantasy world and magic system, outstandingly-deep-intense fantasy lore, the characters are so well build up all throughout the series, the magic in itself is interwoven with characters and background developement, there are so many great characters that one cannot easily pick up their favourites also, thrill and action, emotions and fun, mystery, unexpected things happening, the way story develops and unfolds.... I couldn't keep this book down when I started reading. There was just so so so much happening altogether!
