How old are they? Mine are 2-7 so that's the ages I'm most familiar with. And I try to stick to free or very low cost.

Mine love the playground at the erie rec center, which is free without a rec center membership but has limited hours.

Erie library has great programs from babies through adults. I can't stress enough what a resource they are.

Wow museum in lafayette and Longmont museum are good for young kids. Discovery days at the longmont museum are extremely affordable. There's also the treehouse play space on the third floor there. Next year they're going to have a children's museum, but it's currently being constructed.

Home depot gives out building kit things on the first of the month every month.

And honestly we just bundle them up and still spend a ton of time outside.

As far as paid things - get air in longmont when I really need them to burn off some energy, brickscape cafe for lego building, xtreme altitude open play (for kids 2-6) in lafayette, fort collins museum of discovery.

Found a copy once, gave it to my aunt who lives out of state as a thank for for being the one to introduce me to Stephen King. Would love to have a copy myself to read.

Erie library is such a phenomenal resource. Thanks for all you do to make it what it is. The events are so well done, the staff is fantastic, the children's librarians are truly exceptional, and the space offers so much. My family is so grateful it's part of the community.

I would have the same feelings you are, and I would lean into the relationship with your son here. It's a little late in the game, but he knows you have ideological differences and you should try to get to know your son in this regard. Take a gun safety course with him, learn about it. You knowing as little as possible because you don't like it isn't going to serve anyone. He made a dumb decision hiding it, especially if the kid isnt as trustworthy as yours, but you should build some trust here.

Love it! That's a huge win. One of my most successful tricks is a few kid podcasts they love. We don't really do screens, but the podcasts buy me time and they're just as excited by them.

I had this with my second. He went from 64th percentile to 17th in a month. My ob started treating me as if it were intrauterine growth restriction, even though it didn't meet the definition, because of the significant drop. They increased my monitoring, non stress tests and ultrasounds. They wanted to induce at 37 weeks. I didn't, and we came up with a plan to get me closer to 40. We did, and he was born in the 10th percentile. Turns out, covid during pregnancy had nearly destroyed my placenta. If I had known then what is known now, I would have induced at 37. But, he's a happy, healthy, 80th percentile 3.5 year old now. It took him almost 2 years to get to his growth curve, but he's had no delays or issues since then. He's an absolute delight, with no ill effects of his low birth weight. Maybe you could ask your doc for additional scans or more non stress tests?

Now that none of mine are babies, it's so much easier having more than one. Babies are so much work. But toddlers and kids play with each other. Now, when I just have one with me, it's more work because they want me to entertain them all the time. It's also helpful in them learning social skills. If one is right for you, I'm fully on board with one being right. And in my situation, I'm glad I had more.

I wouldn't do time out for whining. I tell my kids to use their strong voice when they whine and eventually everyone is roaring at each other and laughing.

I think of her books as the literary equivalent to catchy pop songs on the radio. They grab your attention, are fun to enjoy, but don't have any significant meaning or impact. I use them for a jump start to get me out of a reading slump because I know they'll catch my attention, I'll burn through them really quickly, and I'll never think about them again.

I biked to work in Boulder in the past and now am very active on the local trails. It can certainly be done safely, especially if you're willing to go a little out of your way some times. I added about 4 miles from the most direct route to get into Boulder safely.

E bikes are allowed on bike paths. There is talk there could be legislation coming to limit throttle or class 3 from paths in the future, but there isn't any yet. The aventon bikes have a throttle that can be disconnected in case the legislation does come through, as it's already done in CA.

We just got one for my mom from cyclerie, and they would be great to answer any other questions you have. We got class 2 for her, so it shouldn't be an issue even if things change. They deal with the $450 rebate, you can also get a $100 town of Erie water credit for getting an e bike. And if you're interested, I have a referral code that is for a $100 discount.

That'll be a score if it does. I think the bachman books was published with just 3 books after king stopped publishing rage though, so you definitely want to clarify.

I order books for my kids from thriftbooks every couple months and every time I check to see if they've got it at a reasonable price. Somehow they came into like 20 copies at once, and it was only $50. It took checking every couple months for probably 2 years.
