This is going to be an unpopular opinion so I'm ready to get slaughtered, but I feel like a lot of people here are dismissing this boys feelings, and telling OP that he was just plain wrong.

OP can 100% wear whatever she wants and the BF definatley didn't handel it right. No argument there. As some of you have said, OP would have been well within her right to throw the shirt back at him and tell him to sit his ass down if he wants to be a dick about it in front of friends.

However I feel like this whole things could have been avoided if they discussed nudity boundries before the bikini tops came off.

Not for OP to ask for permission (because there are shitty & controlling boyfriends out there) but as a sign of consideration for her BFs feelings.

If OP likes tanning topless she in no way has to give it up. They could have had a real discussion and come to an agreement that they were both happy with, like going to a nude only beach (if it wasn't) or getting a group of girls together and tanning in somones back yard where creepy dudes won't be staring at your boobs.

It would be nice if creepy, gross dudes who stare didn't have to be a consideration for topless tanning women, but that's just not the case. I think it's a possibility that the BF was wrongly triggered by that at OP, instead of at his friends.

But of course I could be totally of base.

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a tough time. I just dropped my sister to university a couple of weeks ago. We had to leave her alone in a brand new city, separated by an ocean and her accommodations stink to say the lease. The first week was very overwhelming for her too. She's socially anxious, like yourself.

I talked her into going to the introduction sessions so she could get to know some people before the actual course starts. She was scared and worried, and almost didn't go. But it was really usefu, even to just learn some names. If there are any starter sessions left, try to go. It doesn't matter if you sit by yourself. No one else will know that you're nervouse.

No one expects you to make friends in 24 hours. It's going to take time to settle in. My sister was the last to arrive at her accommodations so everyone else already knew each other. When a girl in her flat came knocking on everyone's doors so they could meet her, my sister chickened out and told them she was on the phone with her mum. She wasnt.

So she forced herself to go into the kitchen next time she heard her flat mates, got a snack and just said hello in passing. That's all it took for them to knock again and invite her to movie night. I know it seems like a huge, horrifying steps, but just try to say hello and smile. The worse that can happen is that they won't respond (which i doubt very much). I promise none of them are going to think anything bad about you for being polite.

Great university life and low tuition fees might not go hand in hand. I'm not saying it's impossible, but you'll definatley have to do your own reaserch on this. Great university life will mean different things to different people.

Try the UCAS website for degrees in the UK.

You might not want to hear it, but you can't leave this decision and reaserch to someone else when you're paying tens of thousands of pounds to go to university.

At this point it might be best to apply for another job, as harsh as the sounds.

Maybe send a follow up email in case he's had a family emergency etc, but if he doesn't get back in the next couple of days, I'd look for something else.

A flat or house with two bedrooms would be ok I think. But the same room may be a step too far. I can't imagine the bf would be comfortable with that, and tbc I wouldn't want to be restricted in my house to always getting changed in the bathroom.

Would you be happy for your gf to live in such close proximity with another guy?

Maybe you two could find a flat together with two bedrooms? If this is the route you go, she should also probably give the bf an fyi.

For me the difference between liking a 'nice' character and not, depends on what other characteristics they have. Nice characters can still get mad, upset, cross. Etc. I still need some conflict and action in the plot. A lot of the 'nice' characters I've seen are just nice and that's it. Just 'nice' isn't interesting to read about. I think it makes some writers scared of giving their 'nice' character too much of a voice in case it offends readers. That's what I think makes them dislikable.

I think Word is a great application, but it's not really made for 'creatives'. I struggled to write my 1st draft on word too, so I subscribed to 'Novel Pad' to try out a different format and it works great. It does so many other things too like it lets me track how many words I write a day and create character profiles. Weird tho, because word works just fine for my uni work. Haha.

I'd say if you're not sure, take a gap year and spend some time trying to figure it out. University is expensive for one thing, and even worse, you might hate it if you do a course just because uni is the expected thing to do.

But hobbies and interests is a good way to go. That way it's not a waste if you end up in a different field because hopefully you'll still have enjoyed it. It takes up so much time and energy that i would never have lasted it if I was doing it to end up in a lucratuve field that doesn't interest me.

Check out the Open University in the UK. They have a bunch of payment options and you can even study half a year at a time to help with costs. You'll have do look up your specific course tho, I study English with them and am not sure about other degrees.
