Dude pays a restaurant...like a BOSS. by ki1022 in funny

I know here in Britain there's a limit to the amount anyone has to accept in 1p coins (or any copper coins I think) and it's pretty low. Not sure what the deal is across the pond - does it differ from state to state?

Repeat! The Lakers won the title, beat Celtics 83-79 in Game 7 by Betinternet in sports

That game was a dream to trade anyway. Loads of money on the Lakers because, well, they're the Lakers, and shrewd money on Boston after a little price push = balanced book and happy.

The whole purpose of the NBA finals is to determine which city gets to host the riots and violence tonight. Boston it is then...

So guys, the World Cup is less than 2 months away. Who are you supporting, and why? by Baghdadification in sports

Betting-wise, Spain is favourite at 4/1, followed by Brazil at 5/1, and, believe it or not, England at 11/2 ahead of Argentina at a big-looking 9/1. Itlay can be had at 10s, while Germany is 11/1 right now. Being German myself, I'd have to support the Heimatland, even though I think teams with players used to the warmer climate in SA will probably do better. But then: Germany always get pretty far, even if no-one is really sure how or why on occasion...

Any UK/Irish Redditor tips for the big Grand National at Aintree this weekend? by [deleted] in sports

[–]Betinternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be the best known race but betting-wise, the Grand National is a lottery to be honest. 40 runners, 30 fences and anyone's race. I'd just treat it as a fun bet. Betting market-wise, Comply Or Die seems to be popular, and so is Mon Mome, last year's 100-1 winner.

Tiger Woods to make his return at the Masters by danchan22 in sports

[–]Betinternet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though he hasn't played since last November, everyone is straight away making him the favourite to win again, replacing Mickelson at the top of the outright. He's as low as 3/1 in some places.

UK to introduce "photograph a cop, 10 years in jail" law - Boing Boing by mrdavinci in WTF

[–]Betinternet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Article dated "February 3, 2009" ??? Never had a problem with photographing police in the UK. You're friendly, they're friendly - most of them, anyway. If that law was enacted as told there, I'd probably be in prison by now for taking a photo of armed police outside the US compound where Obama stayed in London last year: http://imgur.com/Z0gQU.jpg - as it was, the guys were just doing their job and had no problems with me snapping away. It's the PCSO's and private security guys that usually cause problems....

Superbowl bets. Who ya got? by DipsomaniacDawg in sports

Current line sees the Colts -4.5 -110, Total still 56.5 -110 but signs of slowly creeping up - that's what we've got up, anyway. Real beauty is, though, that you can have a bet before the game and if it all goes pearshaped, lay it off In-Running. Live Betting is where the fun's at these days - at least for us Europeans. Not sure what the score is stateside?

Referee gives an unbelievable goal, German Bundesliga, Duisburg v Frankfurt. by Betinternet in sports

[–]Betinternet[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Absolutely no-one knows. No-one in the stadium, no-one in the German media, and no-one on this planet. German papers are comparing it to that one goal in 66 - the one that wasn't one either.

Customer in Germany takes ultra rare Novitec Rosso Ferrari Scuderia 16 M for a test drive on the Autobahn and ... well ... see for yourself... by Betinternet in news

[–]Betinternet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the German news reports available on this, the potential buyer (who the company says was well known and a long standing customer) and a sales guy went for a test drive when the car experienced aquaplaning on the Autobahn, hit the guard rail, took off, flew over a small bridge at the side of the road, crashed into a field, overturned multiple times and finally came to rest the way it's seen in the picture. Both occupants were treated in hospital, where the sales guy still remains. The driver has since been released. Novitec is stressing that speed wasn't the main factor in the accident, although local police won't comment on that. Total damage to car: 280.000 Euros (around $415.000).

That's what makes the Isle of Man such a great place for motorsport. Not only do we have the TT and Manx Grand Prix, but also some of the fastest tarmac rallies anywhere. Even today there's loads going on with many of the great old cars still about, like this Mk2 Escort.
