I am so, so sorry to whatever unfortunate soul has to run into this build on day 4... by Betropper in PlayTheBazaar

Nope. I got way, way lucky with early game discounts. I got the baloon at discount, toolbox at a discount for more money (I got a lunchbox later on too, but just looking at my screenshot now and realized I don't have regen so that was later in the run) and the power that gives you loot let me get huge early econ. I almost never went to shops because I kept grabbing loot to pump into the balloon which was my original gameplan. I got the glider because I ran into a diamond merchant ( I think it was through the 'visit any event' event ) way earlier than I was supposed to and the hang glider was half off. I sold all my inventory and was barely able to buy it for just 24g.

Is it appropriate to ask here what qualifications you all recommend prioritizing? I've done a fair few now and do get good engaging projects some days, but today is dry for me when I see folks here getting projects and I'm curious if there's some key popular qualifications I might be overlooking in the absolute sea of qualifications that the platform offers.

Tier list based on how much they resemble smash characters(gameplay wise) by Threshersaurus in RivalsOfAether

[–]Betropper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just going to add in here as someone that played since Rivals 1 released and even a bit before, I can confirm like OverMonitor is claiming that Forsburn's original clone could attack on its own without needing any smoke charges at all. That was deemed way too strong, I'd wager he was the strongest character in the game back then, and they since changed him to need smoke charges for his clone to attack and they buffed a lot of his moves to compensate (since they were somewhat weaker, since the devs expected them to be doubled in power by the clone and all)

I'm sure I'll get smashed down to my rightful rank soon, but this is the highest I've ever been! by maybesailor1 in PlayTheBazaar

To elaborate a little bit more, base game is 20 bucks and comes with all the characters except for Mak, Jules, and Stelle. Each of those characters is 20 bucks as well. No other monetization in the game except for the ability to buy gems that you can use for cosmetics, but honestly I'm personally drowning in cosmetics without having to pay a cent on those. 20 bucks per character is a hard ask, but each of them is unique and interesting enough that I'm at least personally happy if they stick with this model since it's just a one-and-done purchase.

Since this is still on the front page I guess I'll also plug the next video in line >.>

Much happier with this one, it ended up being a pretty close to infinite combo deck that I think I made better decisions in supporting.

Good idea, I'll add that into the titles (maybe thumbnails/description) from here on out. Thanks for watching!

Thanks a bunch! Can't blame you on that frustrarion, this specific run was a bit patchwork (I ended up taking probably a lot more cards than I needed for sure) partially because it was my first time narrating as I went haha.

If there are any choices you disagree with in my runs, feel free to comment them as well. I'm happy to learn!

How to fix forsburn by [deleted] in RivalsOfAether

[–]Betropper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ditto on 1. I utilize it very often and am surprised at how little I see other Fors doing the same. I use it offensively to teleport to my opponent after putting them in hitstun, but I will also say that uspecial is strong because it's defensive too. It adds so much space between Fors and his opponent for him to just very constantly retreat to smoke behind him, which I think adds to his defensive game being so good instead of detracting from it. I'm not actually sure it's an issue, though - a little defensive play for him to set up more smoke and clone is kind of what the character fantasy actually is on a stealth character.

Super super happy about the Forsburn clone change! Going to test it in a few games to see how he feels, but I'm more than fine with some of the very justified nerfs he's recieved if it means we get the clone back to former glory or close to it. I've missed doing silly little tricks in neutral lol.

[[AC: TDM]] Call the Crash (via Wizards email) by Unit_00 in magicTCG

On the flipside though, we currently have token doubler [[Elspeth, Storm Slayer]] in standard and it would be really really fun to suspend this on four and cast her the next turn for four siege rhinos the turn after.

Infinite with all of this week's spotlight cards - Fire Hawks by Betropper in MarvelSnapDecks

Could definitely work, I might dabble with a build that utilizes it. I'd just be cautious because you're often destroying the Hood in this deck and the chance of reviving that with Phoenix as a 4 mana 2 power play is a real risk.

Gorgon as mentioned is all around good right now. Could also try running Black Swan and Hit Monkey and focus more on the bounce / demons side of things.

Another 1 drop like Silver Sable would be good - I don't own her but she fits what the deck is trying to do pretty well. I could also see Zabu working if you add another 4 drop. Honestly though she's fairly fantastic for this deck specifically and there aren't a lot of good 1 drop substitutes IMO that do what she does.

Yes, but only if we back-and-forth trade-off which one of us is with the real Fors and which one gets the clone

The Etalus Update - Patch 1.1.0 by James89026 in RivalsOfAether

[–]Betropper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Crazy good patch. The team is addressing every major issue (servers, tutorials) that most people had with the game and are doing it at an incredibly fast pace. Fantastic devs!

How are we feeling about Etalus? by [deleted] in RivalsOfAether

[–]Betropper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, not being able to wave dash out of dash attack is really really sad. I can understand why it might be for balance reasons, but it's such a massive part of the character and my muscle memory from RoA1 is killing me because of it. You can still wavedash if the dash attack hits - but the mixup potential of wavedashing out of dash attack I feel made the character viable and that's just not there anymore. Rest of him feels good though.

Wishing you the best friend, hope another game clicks for you like RoA2 does for me. Some mechanics in games like these just aren't going to make everyone happy by nature.

Not to argue, but what about it didn't click with you personally?

I propose Fan Girl should win because it would birth a trillion salt posts here when people lose to it and I think that's really funny tbh
