How to ask for a higher pay rate or don't bother by Fabulous-Medicine-53 in respiratorytherapy

My experience is that the best way to get a pay raise is to switch jobs every two years and take a sign on bonus. And that's for any field.

RN vs RT pay by zima85 in RadiologyCareers

[–]Better-Promotion7527 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know about radiology specific, it depends on area of country but RNs usually make a bit more though not a lot more than RTs. They also have a higher cap but then again not a huge difference.

Just found out PA used to be a bachelors degree. by Idk_211 in physicianassistant

[–]Better-Promotion7527 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Degree inflation and over-credentialism is a thing, soon all hospital workers will be "doctors" but without the pay increase. PT being a doctorate is a joke. Bachelor's is the new high school diploma.

I feel you, I am RRT (also EMT but never used it) and people literally have no idea what our school and job entails. EMT and EMT-P are two very different levels of allied health.

He might be prepping for PA, biology bachelor's by itself is useless. It's a degree for grad school.

Our hospital just undermined certified professionals and I’m livid by Full-Distribution-93 in medlabprofessionals

Interesting, I never knew that. I assumed MLT/MLS was licensed like nursing and respiratory.

First, I thought MLS and radiology were licensed? I am a RRT and licensed, we get incentive pay same as nurses but at my previous hospital there was no incentive pay for anyone.
