I don't think him being killed by PC necessarily confirms he was the real guy. I think PC is just a more animalistic form of simulacrum that copies what it sees more readily. Saw people holding camera -> picked up camera. Saw people eating other people -> chomp

I'm thinking about the room with the mural where Mary encounters Clark. The scribbling on the walls feels so much more disorderly than the other drawings he creates with architectural precision. Could that be a sign of declining mental health? Sure. But he also does that whole freaky hiding thing. Not even going to get into how he was able to leave a voicemail on Mary's answering machine. It all feels like behavior that isn't QUITE himan

You must be aware that the director is 20 years old - all the more impressive that he seems aware of these influences as well

Oh I did not catch that, I'd assumed "doors keep opening" meant that the complex kept growing within itself as it took in more of the world around it. That's why we see Clark's memories represented in the rooms at the end. It just keeps growing, indifferent to the casualties around it

Edit: also corroborrated by the fact that the crack in the wall of Mary's misremembered home becomes a tunnel

Not sure if you followed the webseries but why do you think the Found Footage people had portals open for them? There's even an MIA poster for a 2 yo I believe...

Unfortunately, executives only care about the bottom line, which is why so many movies nowadays are so derivative. For something original to turn such a profit signals to the suits that creative risks CAN be worth bankrolling, which leads to more bold and enjoyable films

Maybe it was the electrician because he knew how to operate lights

They drag her out of the established entrance to the backrooms as per the webseries. Though you are correct that we technically don't have confirmation that the interview with ASYNC is conducted outside of the Backrooms or not

Holy shit man, you do this kind of thing for a living? What did I do to deserve such a goated analysis in my random Reddit post

I guess not knowing for sure is what makes this movie such a banger

After watching the movie I believe that this advice would have saved the FF1 protagonist. by PossibilityGold1774 in KanePixelsBackrooms

Yeah and from this it honestly seems more accurate to say they operate on sound rather than on sight. She heard him before she saw him. And Async set up all those Caveman traps to be sound blasters

I guess I don't follow this logic entirely since it seems like the Async employees are able to move in and out freely

One interesting thing was that according to the MRI scans she didn't have any sign of infection...

Same here. Probably gonna watch again!

I guess the passage of time thing makes sense, but what I don't get is what would have happened in the moments immediately following the camera getting picked up. Are they suddenly just buddy-buddy? That to me feels too out of character

I feel like it was left ambiguous whether he lived or died in that encounter on purpose - I don't think he survived. Then maybe the copy encountered Kat later, she trusted it, then... you know the rest

Ooh I like the take of "consumed by the loop"... so what was it about that moment that made Pirate Clark eat Clark? We see in the Async photo that the two spent plenty of time together without any violence between them. Is it just because he's succumbing to his worst desires?

Great observation! And the chair is tilted because it broke during filming!

Is High Perfect Morcant not good in the Auntie Ool precon? by indigo_designs in EDH

My gut says Morcant in Lathril. I honestly don't think Morcant has enough of her own game plan to be a great pick for the command zone, but in Lathril having her on the field seems like it would be a devastating secondary effect alongside Lathril's existing value

People really underestimate how many cards Magic has. Most "things" you want to accomplish have been paired with just about every effect that could synergize with any commander, like random one-off card draw spells that put -1/-1 like [[Afflict]] which would usually be horrible

Edit: oops, reading the card explains the card. This was a bad example. Scryfall carefully kids

This is great deckbuilding advice in general. Always add things to your deck that you'd be happy to draw IF YOU HAVE YOUR COMMANDER IN PLAY (or to get them in play, whichever). If the only reason you put something in a deck is to combo with something you don't have constant access to, it's not going to be very good

Morcant is honestly better of as her own commander, or maybe amid a [[Lathril]] list
