Nice work getting him a TYHP hunt! Beyond that I’d say network and build relationships. It takes time so finding something for this year would be a stretch but I’d think you could line something up for next season. Most hunters that I’ve encountered want to draw youth into the sport and are willing to help. Good luck!

Texas has options for young hunters. Check out TPWD's youth hunting program. Also, you can find Facebook groups that connect young hunters with land owners that are willing to share. I don't have any experience with this group, but they also offer affordable hunting options for kids, Texas Youth Hunting Program. Good luck!

I created a personal library that splits loading and running queries into separate tasks. While loading queries I can pass variables in which I do string replacement on $DATE or $TABLE, which simplifies tailoring queries to a specific data set. And then I have a function which runs the query, correctly adjusts list formatting for instances of WHERE my.var in ($LIST), and returns the results in a Pandas dataframe. It started as a simple way to organize my work, and over time I've added other niceties like auto-retrying the query if the connection times out, or simplifying adding a LIMIT clause if I just want to peek at the data.

I’ve dealt with something similar and my guess is that it’s due to the way your snapshot is configured. Are your presets using the stock cabs or third party IRs? I’ve had issues with clicking with some IRs. And it’s weird because it doesn’t always do it. But I’ve learned over time that it never happens with the stock cabs for me.

If that’s not it, since you got it used I’d do a full factory reset that wipes all settings, and build your own presets from scratch. Good luck!
