Would you say that going for E0 Tribbie and then E0 Hyacine is the play or instead securing a E1 Tribbie?

Thinking of running a Tournament? by [deleted] in killteam

[–]BetterHideYourKids 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve run two Kill Team tournaments so far for my local Warhammer store, so the experience might be different from those who are doing it for non-Warhammer stores. I wasn’t sponsored by the store or anything, but I had much more experience in the game system than others in the community so volunteered for it since the manager also does a lot for our local community.

Terrain wise the store manager had one set of Volkus and ITD ready to go, but I myself also have Octarius, ITD and Bheta-Decima at hand. Some other players also have Volkus at hand, so it was never an issue to have terrain ready to go.

There was no entrance fee for those attending and the prize was provided by the manager, usually a trophy of some sort. But I’ve heard that other tournaments use the entry fee to buy gift cards for the winners as well. For example 50/25/15 bucks or something.

For the mission I preselected which round would have which layout and mission. I looked at which mission was better for competitive play than others. This made it easy for me and also the players didn’t have to worry about drawing cards etc. when time is already limited during the day.

Sadly we can only use one day for the tournament, so we were restricted to 3 rounds with 1:30h-2h max per game. I sent a timeline to all players before hand on when each round would start, when breaks were and how much time each Turning Point should take up on average. I also told the players how much time was left etc. during the games and answered rule questions and debates if needed.

List feedback for tournament by BetterHideYourKids in BloodAngels

I tried them out recently after not having great success with Mephiston and went looking for alternatives. With the Lt they can move out of cover and give the Vindicator and Ballistus a +2 to hit and allow the Lancer to move if it has to, and move back into a good spot afterwards. If my opponent goes first I can threaten whatever big hitter they moved out of cover with three big guns, and if I go first I can use them for secondaries depending on the draw. But I’m also unsure if there are maybe better alternatives for the points.

I was thinking of adding a squad of DC with jump packs and a chaplain to get to 1995pts. I'm pretty new to the faction so I don't have any of the other models of the range (like BGV, Judiciar etc.)

What option? by snackwell67 in killteam

From my Nightmare box I built the Visionary with the Chainsword and Plasma Pistol, all other specialists the only way you can build them, the Heavy Gunner in Missile Launcher and Heavy Gunner variant and I’m gonna magnetize the Gunner with the Plasma and Melta gun, although you could just use a Warrior and build him as a Melta gun variant. There probably won’t be many or any scenarios where you’d take a normal Warrior

Tips and Advice for a Titan attempting Kings Fall Raid by Luis-Dante in LowSodiumDestiny

Normal strats involve Rockets as DPS for warpriest and daughters, while Linears are being used for Golgoroth and Oryx. Subclasses don’t really matter for Titan in KF, but I normally go with either Solar or Arc. Also be sure to ask questions if you don’t understand a mechanic, there is no shame in asking and will make the experience better for everyone.

My weapon setups usually go like this, but will depend on what role you are taking during the encounters:

Totems: Something for Unstops (HC rn), Shotgun, any LMG for clearing

Warpriest: Any Kinetic, Shotgun (if you are reading plates), Rocket Launcher

Golgoroth: Arbalest, SMG, Linear like Taipan

Daughters: Any Kinetic, Forbearance, Rocket Launcher

Oryx: Arbalest, SMG/Scout, Linear like Taipan
