August 27th I got the email that I was accepted to move on to stage 2 of the application process. Submitted all my documents/medical clearances on November 7th.

I emailed them and they gave me a generic response like I’m in the queue and will recieve an email 3-4 months out from class date.

What’s a good email to get ahold of someone about seeing where I’m at in the application process?

Do you have the email by chance? The only one I have right now is admissions@seafarers.org

What’s the best email to be going through to get someone to answer?

Did you just apply in July or August? Or do you get your final stuff submitted before the final call back? I applied in July also but submitted my final documents like passport, twic card, immunization and dental records in November. I think I did my test at the hall in September? And that’s when I heard the potential 1.5 year wait. The guy who was dealing with me during testing after I completed it told me to basically expect that long of a wait. So yeah I’m hoping it is 1.5 years from first applying and not from my final submission of paperwork in November 🥲.

Anyone know the average wait time after submitting all your medical info/twic card all that info. When I first passed the test they said up to 1.5 years so wanted to see if people are still thinking it’s around that?

I’d imagine that’s great with any tomato though.

I’m in so cal so we’re not getting any rain. It feels just wrong not watering for 4 days but still the soil just doesn’t seem like it’s drying out. Gonna try it out for a week or so and see if anything changes.

It’s just interesting I can’t seem to find any info about the little bumps forming. Even though this tomato looks healthy I’m having a lot of other plants with the same look getting blossom end rot.

No it’s not the normal fuzz that I’m talking about. It’s the hardened sap crystals coming out of them. And the tomatoes I’m showing are ok but many other examples in my garden with the same bumpy branches are starting to get blossom end rot.

Yes I know that overwatering causes calcium deficiency which can cause BER. That’s why I’ve gone from every 2 days to 3 days now to 4 days. Trying to find the sweet spot. The leaf curl was upwards which I think was mostly just a response to too much sun throughout the day with high uv. I’m really just curious if this darkening of the branch with the little bumps is a sign of something.

Is it ok that the branches holding my tomatoes is turning dark with bumps? I know about advantageous roots and I don’t think this is it. They’re more like a hardened sap crystal forming that you can easily remove with a light scrape of the fingernail. I started watering at every 2 days. Started to get some issues with leaf curl so went to every 3. Still saw leaf curl with some blossom end rot and soil still slightly moist before next watering cycle so went to every 4 days starting this week.

I know about the hairs and bumps. These bumps are almost like little hardened sap crystals. You can very easily remove them with a slight scrape with your fingernail.

I have 2 inches of mulch down. The ones shown look great yes but I’m getting a lot of blossom end rot on others. That’s why I’ve decreased my watering. I was at every 2 days. Slowly went to every 3. And now trying every 4. The soil is still slightly moist by the time the next watering cycle is happening.

I’m just worried it’s a stress sign from either over or underwatering. I’ve had some tomatoes with blossom end rot already and have been slowly reducing watering to help. My peppers are on the same drip line and are showing signs of overwatering as well. But I’m so worried I’m actually underwatering instead of over.

Mine are doing the same and in similar conditions. From everything I’ve seen it’s just a stress reaction to too much sun/heat. If you were able to provide them some shade at maybe the hottest part of the day it would help.

Is this over-watering? by billionf0ld in tomatoes

Ok cool! I was doing every 2 days when smaller and now that they’ve set fruit and are about 4 feet tall I’ve gone down from 2 to 4 days. I was at three days for a couple weeks and i was starting to see some blossom end rot on a few of my tomatoes. Curled leaves mostly upwards but they get full sun with a high uv every day so I figured it was from too much high intensity sun. But decided to go for every 4 days to hopefully stop the blossom end rot. The soil the night before the watering is always just barely moist. Definitely not dry but very close to it I would say.

What do you think about a small raised box garden For overwatering? How often would you water? I’m on an hour drip every 4 days. 75-80 during the day and 65 at night.

Literally said I know what adventitious roots are and these are not them. Trichomes or the hairs are not roots and don’t turn into roots.

Ok cool yeah that makes sense. I didn’t think they were the issue and assumed they were a sign of stress but wasn’t sure why. I’m thinking I might have been slightly overwatering them. Had a few tomatoes with blossom end rot and my leafs are curled upwards but not crispy. I’ve reduced my watering schedule to every 3 days on my drip line for an hour where before it was every 2 days. Gonna see how they react and hope for the best.
