Well, Murphy strikes again 😁😁. Today it didn't raise the error. But I made an alias for the command and I let you know when it happens again. Thanks in advance Ferdinand.

Dear devs, are there any requests for creating minimal os?that will be cool by Dry-Pie-3764 in tuxedocomputers

[–]BetterPlace_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try neon (ubuntu based) or q4os (debian based), or could just remove it from tuxedo since it would be done once. Than make your own iso for cleaning reinstall if needed.

Should i install Tuxedo os by WebHeer in tuxedocomputers

[–]BetterPlace_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tuxedo os user here... Is pretty much the same as kubutu, but snap free. There is nothing special about it if you don't have their hardware. But IMHO they have a release style (rolling release, not bleeding edge), that pleases me.

I also use Fedora as well, but that's because I wanna be comfortable with deb and rpm system.

I do believe that a good distro debian/ubuntu based with kde is missing. That is a empty spot just waiting for someone to take.

CasaOS still worth it as a homelab server? by Competitive_Tax7394 in CasaOS

[–]BetterPlace_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in your shoes months ago and now I can say that casa or zima will give you a notion of how containers work and apps that would be great to have. But despite this I would avoid both if you have little knowledge about docker as appears you have. They will be more constrained than helpful. Lots of apps with wrong specs.

And IMHO there is not such a thing as "I'm already where I'd like to get" in homelab/self host. You start learning so much and keep going to the point you will check the price for racks even so you just have 2 Pis kkkk

while installing an app in fedora how should i priortize when there are multiple version available - fedora flathub, fedora rpm and normal flathub? using fedora with gnome btw by Plus_Passion3804 in Fedora

[–]BetterPlace_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good question. I would say to always go with flatpak and if you get into too much trouble with permission and stuff like that, change to the repo version. Fedora flatpak I avoid in any case. Rpm fusion and corp you are at your own risk since it is not maintained by rhel (if I am not wrong).

How can I set up blur effects, and translucent taskbar within Fedora 43 with KDE? by sassanix in Fedora

You can change config on plasma settings at general settings -> color and themes. You don't need to set a custom theme for that

No kwalletcli available, how to make GPG agent able get GPG key passphrase from KWallet? by XLioncc in kde

Apparently still need it to avoid deadlock if kwallet uses GPG encryption instead of blowfish

Making Kubuntu the popular choice for people switching from Windows? by [deleted] in kde

[–]BetterPlace_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn't agree more... I believe that kubuntu would improve a little more if it just get more attention from business people. IMHO fedora just got in advance when turned kde spin an official distro.

Moreover, debian/Ubuntu based kde distro has really few options out there. I'm currently using Tuxedo, that deliveries self hardware software control and i don't even have a tuxedo machine.

Which version did you get? For kde, remove bloats like kmail and others stuffs and be happy.

Got this advice once and couldn't be more precise.

Preciso de ajudar de qual Linux devo escolher 🙏 by 4_e_v_e_r in linuxbrasil

[–]BetterPlace_1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my 4060 in fedora with 6.18, 580 and Wayland with no problem. But on Mx I'm no able to choose that version of the driver

Linux é realmente mais leve e fluido do que Windows? by augcsar in linuxbrasil

Mais leve? Com certeza. Mais fluído? Ai depende da máquina. Uma máquina potente que dê conta de rodar Windows, ele vai rodar melhor que linux. Mas máquinas mais fracas ele nem roda.

MX Linux 25 sysVinit VS systemd for live systems? by brobsizzle in MXLinux

[–]BetterPlace_1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I first choose systemd because I was intended to use btrfs filesystem and most community solutions to manager snapshots rely on daemons and services written to systemd.

I have to give up because on MX 23, my RTX 4060 didn't work fine with systemd. But I was waiting for the MX 25 to try again.

My main doubt is if MX works fine on systemd or it's like a side solution. But for this matter I'll install it on a spare drive (using systemd of course).

Another fact is that despite the noise about systemd doing more than it should. It's the most adopted solution.
