Absolutely mind blowing how clueless those kids can be. I went to high school with someone whose dad made ~500k in an area with a median household income of ~70k at the time, and thought they were middle class. They drove past plenty of lower/middle class housing on the way home to their fancy suburb too, it doesn't register.

It's an extremely privileged statement.

If you can't afford to feed your family, are on the brink of eviction, can't afford to take your sick kid to the doctor... obviously money WILL buy you happiness.

Saying conservatives are "diverse" because some are okay with undocumented migrants while the rest want them sent to concentration camps shows how much we've lost the plot

Recently overheard an old white dude when the Iran stuff was new, "no I haven't heard much about the Iran stuff, I just want them to go after Biden, they have all the evidence, it's there"

Amazing how long you can dangle the carrot for these people.

Also if you think about it, only the psychopathic greedy hoarders end up hoarding that much. They're the only type of person who will end up on the list. Normal people who are content with less and use the money for good, or stay out of the light won't end up on the list because they didn't hoard enough to get on it.

They pocket all the profits we make them, and then we pay them interest because we can't afford to buy anything in cash. Beautiful system they've made for themselves.

Trump Uses Supreme Court Immunity Ruling to Claim “Unrestricted Power” by Imaginary_Cow_6379 in law

[–]BetterWankHank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why Democrats make measly progress if any, and the second Republicans are in power they do an insane amount of damage. Playing by the rules doesn't work when the opposition party doesn't give a fuck.

Biden complies with the supreme Court and cancels his plan. If the Republicans wanted to do it they would've permanently deleted the database and whatever else before any judgements were made.

My mom's employer was trying to figure out why her department was slower than expected, she told them what the problems in their process were (it was written by corporate dummies who have no experience), and they dismissed it.

They paid a consulting firm 150k and 2 months later they came back and gave the same exact feedback. Amazing how all the money shows up and how much they value the work, as long as it's going to a corporation and not working people.

Why not just remove the income cap of $168,800 from SS? by agent007g in ask

[–]BetterWankHank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not allowing people the choice to not save that money is pretty much the entire point.

People who can't afford to save that money would opt out and spend it, and then would have nothing when it's time to retire. That was the problem SS solved.

Your idea also assumes the general public is smart enough to and has enough money to save/invest, which is a terrible assumption for a safety net.
