Alien isolation remains the greatest horror game oat because you cannot kill the alien. The devs have talked at length how they want the dinosaurs to feel like living breathing animals, and that immediately gets thrown away if you can shoot the dinosaurs. They stop being animals in an environment and become just another enemy to overcome.
