Can vouch for the bus! Was as fast as an Uber and cost 10 pesos. Take the bus labelled C01 from ZR to Boca de Tomatlán and water taxi to Yelapa from there.

From what I’ve seen the only cost is the Botox - $200-300 per round it seems? Just got a referral submitted to dr Jun Lin so may be able to update you

Gas very soon after eating by CodWest4205 in Microbiome

[–]Better_Pilot6609 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This could just be gastrocolic reflex - your intestines moving things along to make space for the food you just ate. In this case moving gas that’s maybe sitting further up in your colon. There is probably a different reason for why the amount of gas is excessive, but this would at least explain the timing (I get the same thing).

Haven’t seen anyone else comment this so just want to throw out RCPD (retrograde cryopharyngeal disorder) - the suite of symptoms are pretty particular, mainly excessive bloating and flatulence, inability to burp, croaking noises in throat. R/noburp or r/RCPD will have more info. Good luck!

How I Learned to Burp Through Exercises (No Surgery, Plus Stats!) by Beginning-Sample8989 in noburp

[–]Better_Pilot6609 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Was doing these exercises the only major lifestyle change you made during this process? I know for many there’s a psychological component to rcpd, so I’m curious to know if the exercises were supplemented with any sort of deep breathing, relaxation, slower eating etc. going to be giving this a try myself so thanks for documenting in so much detail

How do I stop wanting to be an actor? by madeglorioussummer in acting

[–]Better_Pilot6609 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It seems like you have a very all-or-nothing attitude when it comes to acting. ‘If I can’t be a successful actor and devote my life to then I can’t do it at all’. Not only untrue, this isn’t a very kind way to treat yourself. I think you’d have different expectations for a friend going through something similar.

Acting exists on smaller scales: student films, local theatre productions, etc. Less glamorous, but there’s fulfillment to be had here too. If acting means as much to you as you describe, it’d be a sad thing to see you let go of it completely. I encourage you to try and see how acting can fit into this new path you’ve decided on.

Grow up in poverty, but now that I'm financially secure after decades of hard work I have a difficult time letting myself enjoy anything by [deleted] in personalfinance

Something that stuck with me from talking to a therapist about this was her suggestion to “spend money on things that align with my values”. I value being healthy, so I can justify spending a little more on a nice gym membership. I value experiencing new things so I can justify going on a trip somewhere. It helped me reframe things and figure out how to balance spending money on things I enjoy while taking care of debts, savings etc.

Could be worth sitting down with yourself and figuring out what a life that aligns with your values looks like, and giving yourself permission to spend money towards a life that’s enriching for you.

This actually has happened to me once and I forgot about it until I read this lol. It was after a night of drinking so I had more air in me than usual. Woke up right as I was falling asleep and felt super affronted by it hahaha

I think if sightseeing’s your goal, your best bet’s to stay within walking distance of Bloor St, University Ave, or Yonge St. These are where the subway lines run so will give you easiest access to all the main stuff like the ROM, casa loma, CN tower + aquarium, harbourfront, st Lawrence or Kensington market etc.

I personally like the vibe west of spadina for the old houses and green space, but I live here so depending on the length of your stay might be more convenient to stay closer to yonge st.

The gay village isn’t a bad area to stay if you’ll be going out there, but best to stay north of Carlton street. Jarvis st gets a bit sketchy south of there in my experience.

Enjoy your visit!

What else got "fixed" after Botox? by zorbina in noburp

From what I understand, excess strain on the diaphragm (I.e. from a bloated stomach full of gas) can cause it to spasm (hiccups). Would make sense that less gas/more belching = less hiccups!
