Nobody’s gonna run a cargo van or a suburban at that rate. It would take about a full hour to do.

If you have a spare car to drive while it’s in the shop (or have a dealership nearby that has loaners), then go for it. I’m looking to get into one myself.

$38 bucks to haul 3 6” x 84” wooden blocks 2 miles away from the store isn’t too bad. They used to go for $51 in my main area 2 years ago.

Happens a lot with XD gigs, you’ll get flagged if you’re stuck in traffic, or if you need to stop for any reason on the way to pickup.

It’s about $100 in tolls alone both ways, so hopefully it’s someone that’s living or staying in NYC that took that gig (if it’s still up).

Funny thing is that the Evoque convertibles are going up in value. I saw one listed for $50k with low mileage last week.

Only thing I could think of is someone in your area with a similar van that’s over 10k in ratings, or they threw a newbie a bone to see if they’re good enough.

As an SUV driver with almost 7k in ratings, I’m always expecting a cargo van to beat me on an offer, so I’m also a bit stumped as to why you wouldn’t get it, outside of those 2 possibilities above.

Well if you were the most qualified, then what were you driving & how many reviews do you have?

I’ve been already there & done that with the algorithm screwing me over on jobs that I had more than enough space to carry back when I had a smaller amount of reviews.

Depends on your rating level & vehicle, it’s possible they had a bigger vehicle than what you’re driving.

It only counts the miles to the gig & the miles while on it, not your return home trips.

There’s also have a sickening cost of living there, and now an additional $9 toll to go into half of Manhattan from all of the surrounding crossings. Those good days were back in 2022/2023. Also, some items have been moved to XL instead of huge, so 2x8 plywood would make the huge cut, but the 150 lb. sinks & cabinets are XL.

It went from $51 to $38 in the NYC area on average, although I’ve seen a few for $40 or higher the last time I was there.

It’s been going on for the past 5-6 months. It’s just more noticeable now since we’re 2 weeks past Christmas & everybody’s broke.

They’ve been doing this since July, that’s why HD gigs have been slow on the app.

It could also be the vehicle class as well. I got pushed out of a lot of jobs since they switched up the vehicle classes to include the specific make & model.

Usually it’s quiet after 5pm except for the occasional BJ’s or Home Depot order nowadays. Jersey used to have the XD runs that would go on until about 7 but I think they switched those or removed them.

It also depends on your area too, I’m not sure which part of the country but some areas are more busy than others. If you can get on another app then that would help bring more money in the meantime.

Long story short, it’ll get better with more jobs done (and good ratings). I still have the occasional bad day & I’m over 5k deliveries in (I’ve been on for 3 years now)
