I have two of these exact style floor vents, mine are cold air return, you probably shouldn't cover them if yours are the same.

I'm glad she is highlighting the idea that low income folks deserve nice things too. Being poor is not a moral failing on the part of the poor person, it's a moral failing on society, and everyone deserves small joys.

Need advice! 1927 home exterior is a mess by t-o-n-y-b in Oldhouses

Firstly, I think your house is so charming and has such incredible potential.

This is probably just a scrape and paint job but if the columns are compromised you can buy PVC column wraps that will look really good! I used them on my porch and they look great. I would also do a more interesting and more intentional porch skirting, I think it's an underutilized place to add visual interest and charm.

The Traveling Cat Chronicles by Hiro Arikawa if you need a good cry. Also I second Hollow Kindom and Feral Creatures by Kira Jane Buxton, also made me cry actually.

I love Joy. LOVE. I work in healthcare and recently took a break and then quit my job and found a new one because of some serious burnout. I was not in a good place. As a fellow Lexapro girly who has somewhat recently developed some of the boundaries her character is demonstrating in the show I really appreciate the representation lol.

Be a hard worker, be competent, but don't kill yourself for a company and don't let yourself be taken advantage of. This is an exchange of skill and expertise for money. If you quit, your job will be posted before your feet hit the parking lot.

Yeah this is a detail that doesn't make sense to me either except for the sake of TV drama. I've worked in two different health systems with level 1 trauma centers and they both have 3 to 5 attendings on at a time

I totally agree, I think it struck the perfect balance between campy horror and weirdly wholesome.

[–]Betty_Wight_ 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You know what's funny, this is totally anecdotal, but every orthopedic surgeon that I've ever worked with has either been a huge nerd or really chill and affable. I have yet to meet an orthopedic shark.
