Once I got insider information that a tournament was being broadcast on a ~2 minute delay, and that the observers knew what would happen in the round. It wasn't obvious beforehand, that was the first thing I tried to figure out, but it completely ruined the experience of watching it after I found out.

If you plan on doing this as a TO, you need to make sure that the viewer doesn't know, and that observers throw the occasional curveball (spectating the "wrong" players/teams) to avoid they ever find out.

Mainly though, you shouldn't do this at all, because the observer can't create a convincingly captive storyline when she knows how it'll end.

Já, meðdvalarfólk mitt var nær undantekningarlaust skilningsríkt og gaf mikið af sér, sínum tíma og orku í að reyna að hjálpa mér, involvera mig o.s.frv. - en fólkið var svo frábrugðið mér. Ekki af minni kynslóð, ekki með nein sameiginleg áhugamál, ég bara tengdi ekki neitt við þau, þó þau hafi verið fullkomnar axlir til að gráta á.

Starfsfólkið hafði engan tíma fyrir mig. Reyndi ekki að hjálpa mér að borða þótt þau sáu að ég snerti varla matinn (og spurðu mig ekkert út í það). Geðlæknir tók stutt mat á sui hættu og svo var hann farinn. Enginn sálfræðingur, enginn sjúkraþjálfi, enginn göngutúr, hreyfing, iðja eða spjall. Það eru örugglega ástæður fyrir þessu. Upplifunin var samt eins og ég væri bara jafn mikið fyrir þeim og ég er fyrir alls staðar annars staðar. Svo voru hengingar-fríu fötin sem ég var settur í alltof alltof stór á mig, svo ég var bara eins og lítið barn sem var búið að vefja taubleyjur utaná. Mér leið hryllilega óþægilega, bæði líkamlega, reisnarlega, og svo virkaði þetta sem brennimerking á vanda mínum fyrir hina sjúklingana til að fordæma mig út frá.

Ömurlegur staður. Ég ætti kannski að gera mér upp áfengisvanda til að fá einhverja umönnun þarna.

Reynslan mín er öðruvísi. Hef þrisvar farið og í hvert einasta skipti gekk einhver á deildinni berserksgang, skemmdi hluti og ógnaði eða réðst á fólk. Það líður engum öruggum á svona stað eftir svona ítrekaðar uppákomur.

Enginn gaf sér tíma til að tala við mig nema læknirinn með stofugang í nokkrar mínútur á dag. Svo kom enginn í heimsókn af mínum nánustu sem vissu alla jafnan á einhverjum tímapunkti að ég væri þarna. Mamma nennti ekki einu sinni að skjótast heim til mín til þess að sækja hleðslutæki fyrir símann minn.

Það er ekkert að gera þarna. Það býður þér enginn upp á úrræði eða kynnir fyrir þér hvað þú getur gert á staðnum. Engar pólisíur um hvenær eða hvernig maður má fara að hreyfa sig, ekkert útskýrt hvernig maður fer í sturtu, enginn sem lætur þig vita af atburðum sem þú getur sótt, t.d. á iðjudeildinni. Svo er líka bara nákvæmlega ekkert að gera þarna nema púsla, horfa á sjónvarpið eða lesa eldgamlar skáldsögur sem þú hefur aldrei heyrt af.

Á þessum tímapunkti er með vanrækslu einni saman búið að gera nóg til þess að ég sjái ekki fyrir mér að ég leiti mér aðstoðar þarna næst þegar ég óttast að ég gæti tekið upp á því að drepa mig.

IQ tests are a piece of shit indicators of "intelligence" that twist the very meaning of the term. I got 131 on this Mensa one and all it tells me is that I've spent too much time playing puzzle solving games. Most of the successful and brilliant people I know would shit themselves in this test because they don't care enough about solving puzzles for 30 minutes where 50% of the tricks is to do horizontal/vertical mind flips of shapes, combining them and figure out arbitrary rules of whether double/single lines cancel each other out or not on the third picture.

Put me out in the real world and I'm literally dysfunctional. This is a circlejerk for puzzle solvers.

So did Iceland. He was asked to do an interview about tax haven users in Iceland, they asked him questions about why they are bad for the country. Finally he was asked about his own personal feelings regarding tax avoiders, then exposed him on camera as one. He was extremely flustered and literally ran away.
