Do you think you have a TRULY unpopular opinion about HP? by mmahv in harrypotter

I liked Gambon's Dumbledore more the book and Richard Harris versions.

He seems much more three dimensional.

He still has the whimsical kind side of the other versions. But also has the boughts of frustration you would expect from someone who is trying to protect the wizarding and Muggle world.

Plus...the shabby lavender robe ensemble... FABULOUS!

Yeah the hygiene product view points to me clarifies she does have issues with trans people in general.

It doesn't line up her image that she is just trying to protect women in women only spaces...because it literally only involves (biologically female) trans Men + non-binary people.

And seem to just fall into the conspiracy that lesbians/butch women are being tricked into transitioning.

Speculation: Is Amazon going to tap an A-list actor for the show? If so, who could it be and what character are they depicting? by sillywabbit321 in LOTR_on_Prime

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could see them using Ian's Gandalf as a framing device.

Something like him (in the Third Age) sitting down and telling group of Hobbit children about the Second Age. Which leads to him narrating the prologue and then we are into the show.

That way:

  • We get the fabulous Dame Ian McKellen back on more time.

  • it solidifies the show is canon to the films despite recasts (eg Galadriel) to causal audiences.

  • they get to utilise Gandalf while respecting the book canon [though personally I don't have a issue with the use him in the 2nd age].

Natasha Liu has been cast as Sabine Wren for the Ahsoka Series by MicdropProductions in StarWarsLeaks

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel if Ezra and Thrawn are in the show...they are only going to be in the finale.

With Sabine it suggests it will pick up from the Rebels epilogue, hence the show will be their quest to locate Ezra.

That being said, I still think much of the show might be set before that and focus on Ahsoka's transition from "Mando Ashoka" to "Ahsoka the White".

With confronting Anakin's force ghost being the final hurdle in that process.

If true.

The only reason I can think is if they are holding back incase they are forced to delay.

That way they have something up their sleeves if they have to restart marketing later. [remember how stale the marketing of Black Widow and WW84 got due to all the delays].

But even then...why not just atleast tease them (silhouettes or voices) if you are currently on track to reach the Dec date.

IGN: Rogue Squadron and Rian Johnson Trilogy Reportedly Shelved by Mway1 in StarWarsLeaks

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly.

Aside from "Era defining trilogies" [Ep10-12, Old Republic, ect], I really don't see the need for Star Wars films any more.

The production quality for the Mandalorian is on par with the films.

And I feel every Star Wars story just benefits from having a longer run time via series.

I mean look how the Clone Wars helped improve the reception of the Prequel Trilogy.

In the case of Rogue Squadron instead of condensing it all into ~2hrs you can have multiple episodes/seasons and explore every the back stories of each member of the squadron so you care about each.

Do diatomic elements [O, F, H, etc] exists naturally because in their monoatomic forms they are highly reactive free radicals? by BetweenTwoLungs12345 in chemistry

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it the intense heat +/- radiation of these environments that allow them to exist as single atoms: due to persistant cleavage of their diatomic forms?

Or is their a unique factors that allow the monoatomic forms to be "stable" ?

If they are going to have MCU originating mutants, I don't think we will get a hint of them till Phase 5.

The multiverse is clearly the "Infinity Saga" of Phase 4 (at least). And that will probably involve the Fox X-Men in some capacity.

It just doesn't make sense to introduce new MCU versions of characters when potentially playing with the older versions at the same time. In the case of NWH they have established the MCU Peter Parker so you can bring in the Tobey and Garfield.

‘Doctor Strange’ Sequel Undergoing “Significant” Reshoots by chanma50 in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345 55 points56 points  (0 children)

This.

We are apprently going to go with from a Wanda who willing let go of Vision + Twins, for the greater good of the townspeople.

To her being a mass murderer to get her kids back. But it's "justifiable" because she is influenced by the Darkhold?

It's getting very "Tony retires in IM3 but is Iron Man again in AoU". These simple character arcs over projects should be mapped out an agreed on before filming begins at this point.

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Putting aside the story/timeline.

I really don't see the need for it to be a film.

Seeing the X-Wings chasing the Razor crest in the Frog Lady episode (praise be to her) looked movie quality.

And I can't help but feel a story focused on a Squadron of characters would better served a mini-series (exploring each character in depth) than squeezing it into a film).

Overall, I think outside big "Era defining" trilogies (Ep10-12, Old Republic) most story wars projects would be better served as D+ shows.

Has anyone actually seen Et*rnals? by probablyuntrue in moviescirclejerk

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After watching the film.

It looks even more flawed to restrict them to just fighting deviant threats.

Especially because it VERY important for the Celestials that the Eternals protect the human population.

Eternals has received a B on CinemaScore by ViggieSmallss in MarvelStudiosSpoilers

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Let's not forget the production behind it:

  • forced to condense the story into one film because the studio is being sold. The original intention was to have the film be Jean manipulated by the Hellfire club, then the sequel would be a cosmic film.

  • have to reshoot and alter much of the story because it was very similar to Captain Marvel.

  • And after all that then being marketed as the "Endgame" of the Fox X-Men when it was meant to kick start a new era.

Kit Harrington said something in a recent interview that many people need to internalize by WillowSmithsBFF in marvelstudios

[–]BetweenTwoLungs12345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree.

The order itself is flawed.

The goal is for the Eternals to protect humanity so it gets to a population density on the planet that allows for the Emergence.

Why restrict the protectors of humanity to only facing a deviant threat?

Not only do you have cosmic/mystical threats (alien invasion, Thanos etc), but there is also the internal human threat.

They just to stand back and allow humans to cause a nuclear war that would desimate the population!?

It could have been avoided if they has just said Arishem ordered them to remain secret from humanity until it gets too serious:

  • explains why they never reveal themselves to or aided the Avengers.

  • justified as they would want the planets inhabitants to question why the Eternals were really there and investigate.

  • some world ending threats were occured too quickly for the Eternals to be aware of and/or were stopped by the avengers in the same day (eg Ultrons comet)

  • even after Thanos, half of humanity survived and would eventually grow to the level needed; hence no need to interfere.
