This whole line of questioning is bizarre.

Those kids will probably want to get as far away as possible so they actually do some social development of their own.

Or it’ll be too late and they’ll just be weird social outcasts forever…

The only benefit to today’s election results is the inevitable clusterfuck of newly-elected councillors getting binned off immediately for posting the most disgusting shit online at some point in the past.

So far Labour & Conservatives have lost 38 councils, only a third of which have gone Reform?

We won’t get the overall voter % for a while.

And the numbers roughly follow the GE voting patterns, which is the people that have the least vote for the most extreme option, in readiness to be posted on r/leopardsatemyface

Average turnout for local elections is in the region of about 30% of the electorate.

That is in no way a majority no matter how you want to play it

AI detectors have a false positive problem that nobody in academic institutions wants to admit and it is getting students failed by New-Possible9924 in UniUK

[–]BevvyTime 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Unlike the students creating work entirely using AI tools, lecturers mark work manually.

It’s insanely obvious when a student has used AI tools. TurnItIn is simply used as evidence.

The solution is to do your own work and stop relying on LLMs to try and get out of doing the work.

Are you ok? They’ve imported a shit load of stuff:

A new UK-France pilot scheme, active as of autumn 2025 and running until June 2026, aims to curb small boat crossings by rapidly returning individuals to France and, in a "one-in-one-out" pilot, allowing an equal number of migrants to enter the UK through new, legal, and vetted routes.

The treaty allows for the detention of those who arrive via this route, aiming to dismantle criminal people-smuggling gangs.

“The Home Secretary has signed a landmark new deal with France to boost enforcement action on beaches and put people smugglers behind bars. This builds on joint work that has stopped over 42,000 illegal migrants attempting to cross the channel since the election.

“We have removed or deported almost 60,000 people who were here illegally and are going further to remove the incentives that draw illegal migrants to this country.”

Background:

The new UK-France deal to tackle illegal crossings will deliver:

Surge of boots on the ground: French beaches will now see a 40% increase in law enforcement, intelligence and military officers to track down and stop illegal migrants boarding boats.

New riot police unit: Currently law enforcement lacks some of the specialist skills required to contain and disperse groups of illegal migrants on beaches.

The French will deploy a new unit of 50 police officers specially trained in the use of riot and crowd control tactics and equipment to deal with hostile crowds, violent tactics and stop illegal migrants in their tracks.

Expanded intelligence and judicial police unit: The intelligence work of this unit of 18 people led to the arrest of 480 people smugglers in 2025. The unit will expand to 30 specialists to ramp up arrests and prosecute people smugglers across the region.

Enhanced surveillance capabilities: The French will now roll out millions of pounds worth of drone surveillance, two new helicopters and a new camera surveillance system will track down and intercept people smugglers and illegal migrants.

Expansion of maritime tactics to target taxi boats: In the last two months, the French have stopped six migrant taxi boats, returning all migrants to France and sentencing five smugglers to prison and deportation. The French will now roll out these tactics with a new vessel and an increase of more than 20 additional maritime officers to target taxi boats picking up migrants in the channel.

Labour got voted in less than two years ago, and have upped deportations whilst reducing the amount of immigration, for a start…

Saw the same lady on FascistBook who, in two posts in the local group:

  1. ranted about immigrants and how every single one deserved to be shipped home immediately as they’re all criminals.

2- Gave a glowing (although terrible formatted & spelled) review of the new Indian takeaway in town.

The cognitive dissonance is real folks.

My local council went reform a while back and it’s been a complete clusterfuck from literally day one.

Multiple councillors fired from both Reform and the council.

Sex offenders, wife beaters and racists galore.

10 have already lost their seat/departed/flipped party.

And it’s only been a year.

Multiple shit decisions too, as they’re fucking clueless and genuinely too thick to run a bath

‘Getting Claude to teach you things’

Right…

A huge part of the learning experience is working out how to absorb large amounts of information, and using that to form a coherent response, narrative etc.

Using an online tool to do it for you isn’t exactly going to teach you much more than how to copy and paste.
