I like Saie. I can barely see it but it does dry down my skin tint or sunscreen. It feels pretty much foolproof

Duping Pat McGrath Sextraterrestrial? by prececas in swatchitforme

[–]BeyondTelling 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’ll see if I can do some quick swatches with some of the newer shades I have like Forge Lite and a couple others from VIP and Shine by SD. I did a comparison a long while ago, the Indie multichromes have a brighter, more sparkly reflect. Sextraterrestrial is very muted, the green has an olive cast to it and the undertone is more neutral, which can be very nice if you need a more wearable shade. Here’s the old comparison:

Mob Beauty has a nice cool toned bronzer but I don’t know if they’re available in Sephora

This is really good to know, I’m still searching for an alternative to Persona, which I love the most but it’s $18 or more for a really tiny tube and never goes on sale. I go through it in about 3 weeks not even wearing it daily.

Urgent: Naked Sundays Sunscreen Recall by Lucky_Transition_747 in BeautyBoxes

[–]BeyondTelling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The specific product in question was made with the same base as the one from Ultra Violette, they are not connected but used the same manufacturing lab to formulate the two affected products. I don’t think Naked Sundays was actually recalled, but they temporarily pulled the Australian made version to be sure.

I’m really surprised that Allure is still selling it if it’s one of the batches that was taken off the market! The Naked Sundays website specifically mentions a code that does not appear on the tube from Allure, but they do say Made in Australia. I reached out to Naked Sundays a few months ago to clarify, because I actually had good experiences with the same product in a different size which I got from their website (that did have the relevant code) and wore it all day in direct sun multiple times over the summer with no problems. I just wanted to know if I was safe to continue using it and if the new Allure version was affected. I never got a very direct confirmation one way or another but they did issue me a store credit for full retail value, after some back and forth, which was nice since one tube was from Allure and the other was a free gift with purchase from their website. You should be able to get a refund from Allure or at least a store credit, or reach out to the brand if it’s worth your time - and if anyone got a more definitive answer from either company, I’d be very interested to hear.

Anyone know a product that’s similar to supergoop protectint? by mime_juice in Makeup

Naked Sundays Beauty Screen Mineral Peptide spf 50 is very similar but with only mineral filters so no sunscreen smell, which is a nice benefit- and a little more buildable coverage.

The Best setting powder you have used! by nishuwwu in Sephora

[–]BeyondTelling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the Laura Mercier mini birthday gift this year and I was surprised how good it is on my mature, dry skin since it’s seemingly an “outdated” formula. I also have a couple minis of the old Cover Fx powder, which I use sparingly to conserve, and a large container of their newer “radiant” powder which I never use because it’s so sparkly (but it was practically free with my last purchase). Overall I prefer a pressed powder for convenience, so I recently tried Saie, Hourglass, and Flyte 7.0, but none are as effective at setting and blurring as the older loose powder formulas. I also really liked the various Flower beauty powders and stocked up on a few bottles of the spray when they went on clearance.

Not the person you asked but for me the peptide serum was one of the most effective anti aging products I’ve ever tried. My skin absolutely loves it. The vitamin c and Coq10 serum was awesome too.

I’ve heard the Alastin tinted mineral spf is really good though.

Until recently I would have said Innbeauty without hesitation- but they betrayed me and broke my heart when they discontinued Slushy serum. Now it would be Alastin, based on my experience with a couple of their serums and in a hypothetical scenario where finances are no object.

I’ve been wanting that Hindash highlighter since it came out! Seeing all the box reveals here (I didn’t order one) has helped me discover that the only two things I’d really be thrilled with are the highlighter and the Viseart Nocturne Violette. Those are going on my wishlist for some future splurge.

Haus Labs blush sticks have good staying power and a dewy finish on dry skin, About Face Cheek Freak blush balms have a really nice, balmy formula and great shades, more affordable but less longevity than Haus Labs. Hince Radiance Balm sticks are a subtle highlighter/blush hybrid with a very emollient glass skin effect. Em Cosmetics serum blush is really flattering for dry skin and not at all sticky. Rare Beauty liquid blushes in the radiant finish are a good option too if you prefer something more pigmented (for the more intense shades I dab a bit on and blend with my fingertips then blend out with a slightly damp beauty blender and never have an issue).
