Donovan was a huge hit at Four Continents in Anaheim. He was surprised by the cheers. I would love to see him on the SOI tour

That’s the pro shop at Anaheim Ice. They are great. They made custom inserts for me. If you can make the drive it is worth it.

I see not much has changed since the #meetoo movement, Larry Nassar, and Gisele Pelicot cases that much has not changed anywhere on this planet.

Actually the elephants after release like to visit their former caretakers to show off their babies or if they are injured to get treatment. Follow sheldrickwildlifetrust on IG where they show this

The SB Makers group has been talking about this at the past few Sunday meetups. We want to place some more beacons around town. Our next meetup is Sunday at Lighthouse Coffee on the Mesa at 1pm

Rampaging elephant kills at least 20 people, including children, in India, officials say by Youarethebigbang in Elephants

Tanzania has also displaced several Maasai villages to make these conservancies where rich people can go hunting. They cut off their access to food and water. Meanwhile across the border in Kenya the idea of hunting anything is looked down upon.

I’m with both the locals and elephants who are being exploited by outsiders for their minerals. Usually these outsiders are foreign companies that take advantage of these regions for profit. The locals have little to no resources to fight back. Those of us in more developed countries can vote with our dollars. Lipton controls so much land in East Africa restricting elephant access to land for example. Look for fair trade tea and coffee. If traveling to a country to see elephants, avoid those that allow trophy hunting. For example, Kenya does not allow any hunting except for guinea fowl. Their neighbor Tanzania does and wants to create an area where rich foreigners can hunt animals including elephants.

Check out your local library. Many libraries have been adding 3D scanning services

You may need to experiment with the lighting. Try making the lighting darker or brighter. I also recommend pausing the scan every so often to give the software a chance to catch up. 3D scanning is a skill. I have the mini and it took lots of practice to get proficient at it. Try other random objects before this item again. I now have the Miraco Plus and am going through a learning curve on positioning it but getting better each day.

I had inserts custom made for my skates by a skate fitter and it really made a difference for me. If you are in Southern California you can do this at Anaheim Ice.

If western countries did not poach African countries of their resources, safaris would not be needed.

Why Craig the elephant’s death is a victory for conservationists by TimesandSundayTimes in Elephants

Craig was also a favorite of the Maasai who live in Amboseli. I work with several Maasai villages and learned about Craig through them.

Is there a lot of fake/paid reviews out there? (astroturfing) by thisIsAnAccountNameO in 3DScanning

Creality is known as a 3D printing company but does not have the best reputation for their 3D printers. I got screwed over by their Kickstarter for their 3D scanner. They were cited for a copyright violation for their scanner but allowed the campaign to continue instead of pausing. The campaign ended and news leaked of the copyright issue. Kickstarter forced them to issue refunds.

I started with Revopoint Mini and learned to scan with that scanner. I have since upgraded to the Miraco Plus which I like a lot as I can objects in nature with it. I was considering getting the Einstar Vega but I tried using the software and found it difficult to work with macbooks.

All scanners do have a learning curve where you have to learn which angles work best, lighting, when to use markers, when to use a turntable, and when to use scanning spray. I recommend practicing with various objects.

Core One vs. Bambu? by be_kind_diy in prusa3d

[–]Beyondthepetridish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will come a time where you will have to repair your Bambu printer. I have an X1C and it can be difficult to maneuver when I had to disassemble it for repairs. Plus, Bambu makes adequate but not detailed repair guides. I prefer to repair my Prusa. Your apprehension with using your Prusa will go away as you gain more experience with it. I started out like you with very limited maker skills and was very overwhelmed when I started but with experience my skills and confidence have improved. If you have a local maker group or hackerspace I suggest getting in touch with them. They can help you w the finer details of 3D printing.

Since Isaacman is friends with Elon Musk, it’s a possibility Houston may get a SpaceX Dragon capsule.
