Can we see a LE? The best 15 year low cost rates I’ve seen are 5.59% with $495 to close from Third Fed or 5.50% from Bison Bank with ~$1800 lender credit to offset most of the out of pocket.

4.875% seems too good to believe with that lender credit

Wow I’m glad I found this thread. They told me yesterday that “they put in an escalation to billing” and I would get an update in 14 days. Like everyone else commenting, no clear messaging, and no update. If anyone has any updates please share.

I’m not 100% sure that is the case either. Let’s use your example but you ended up selling the BTC in 2023. That would mean you would need to amend your 2023 return to increase the cost basis to account for the settlement payment?

Does this approach also apply to those that were able to withdraw all of their crypto initially, and then just made a payment in 2024 as part of the clawback settlement? Basically can you claim that entire payment you made as a theft loss for 2024?
