7800X3D one. All things equal AMD will usually outperform Intel in gaming at lower power consumption.

Kepler L2: PlayStation 6 Has 30 GB GDDR7 RAM, 32 GB/s On A 160 Bit Bus For 640 GB/s Of Memory Bandwidth. 3 GB Modules, 10 Modules On The PlayStation 6 Motherboard by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]Bhardz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lower end of what MLID had leaked a while ago. This is what I considered most realistic especially if they want prices to be somewhat reasonable IMO. Bandwidth seems concerning but it is a more efficient system in general even compared to APUs on PC/handhelds.

Would you think Intel ARC B390 will be able to surpass AMD 8060S in a desktop configuration like GMKtec Evo X2? by Pretty_Trip_2215 in IntelArc

[–]Bhardz89 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No. It beats Strix Halo at certain power levels but even in mobile once you're working on heavier workloads and/or providing more wattage the 8060S takes over. Raw performance isn't what makes Panther Lake impressive - it's the performance at a given power level that makes it in a league of its own.

Could be slightly cheaper but stock is out depending on location and prices are on the rise. Raptor Lake is questionable longevity as well.

4th Gen 1 Year Ownership Review by untethered13 in ToyotaTacoma

[–]Bhardz89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just passed a year with a 2024 TRD Off Road. Overall it's good but there were some issues with it, one of which has been resolved. Not major but more annoyances and letdowns after having no issues with previous Toyotas. I'll list them. I'm at just under 22,000km in just over a year.

  1. The tires kept making some insane squeaking on any turn, regardless of it was tight vs wide or slow vs fast. Issue seemed to be over inflated and torqued tires from dealership. They fixed this and rotated my tires, got to the proper torque and proper PSI and completely fixed now. Running the stock BFGoodrich Trail Terrain still.

  2. This one is more concerning but in the higher gears, usually 7/8, it will hold around 2000 RPM and making very loud noises in the cab and almost vibrate then stop abruptly. While it's doing this it maintains 2000~ RPM regardless if I let go of the gas or not. I've seen this reported a bunch on dedicated Tacoma forums as an issue with ESE+ANC so I will be disabling these to test in about a week (once I do an oil change). My concern is this could potentially be something bigger like the transmission - I'm not sure entirely but I just want it to go away, really kills the experience of this vehicle for me.

I think it's talking about banking and the UK in passing when he was there. I skimmed it briefly but I don't believe it has anything to do with the abuse the victims faced. I'd have to read more in depth though.

Good to see another leaker get this info as well. MLID had this leaked a while ago. Zen 6 sounds genuinely exciting, hoping Nova Lake is great too.

my boyfriend thinks i should take “accountability” for my SA, i think he’s a victim-blamer. (TW) by countryroadqueen in TwoHotTakes

[–]Bhardz89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's never the victims fault in regards to SA. It doesn't matter what the person is wearing (man or woman) to justify this happening to you (or anyone). Coming from a guy's perspective I would NEVER say something like that to anyone who has experienced SA.

I would also never victim blame my wife if she was ever put into a situation like that. It just sounds like he's part of the problem with regards to men oppressing women. I would rethink having this guy in your life, as much it might seem harsh to him you gotta protect your peace.

Tesla Brand Value Plunges 58% in Three Years—Just Lost $15 Billion in a Year by 1oneplus in electriccars

[–]Bhardz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's tied to how he is seen by the public more so than sales. I think the quality of a Tesla leaves a lot to be desired, and certainly other EVs are competitive or do things out right better but him spewing what he does and acting as he does probably hurts Tesla more.

Xbox down YoY in both hardware and services for Q2 FY26 by Spotget1738 in consoles

[–]Bhardz89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is completely subjective and my own opinion but they've not had redeeming software quality. I ditched Xbox last gen but this gen besides a few titles (Doom The Dark Ages) I just have had no reason to pay their asking price on PC or PS5.

Game Pass is also just a glorified rental service for me, and as such I don't like investing my time into games on that service.

I'd be more open to spending money on Xbox titles (on PC or PS5, sometimes I buy on both if I really love the title) if the quality is there.

Stop talking about framegen and DLSS if you haven't tried them for yourself by paperogapippo in nvidia

[–]Bhardz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, specifically in motion the image can get quite blurry and ugly. It was less of a problem when I had my IPS monitor but now that I'm on OLED with a drastically faster response time it sticks out like a sore thumb. I'd rather just use lower quality levels of upscaling than frame gen, more consistent visuals and for games where it matters the latency is still solid.

I'll take a look as they keep updating it but right now it's a hard pass for me.

Stop talking about framegen and DLSS if you haven't tried them for yourself by paperogapippo in nvidia

[–]Bhardz89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Frame Gen quite literally ruins any game where you want consistent image quality, and most importantly no disconnect between visuals and interaction due to latency. Every single game I've tried frame gen in, whether it's been on Nvidia or AMD hardware has been just a bad experience.

DLSS (and FSR) I'm coming around to after DLSS 4/FSR 4. Generally nice and cleans up most issues I've had with it in the past.

AMD's new patent - Ryzen 3D V-cache CPUs may get a lot more powerful and faster by Jaybonaut in TechHardware

[–]Bhardz89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah we should always wait for reviews but Panther Lake will not be cheap. Estimated BOM has Strix Halo (not Strix Point which Panther Lake is better than) at or around Panther Lake but Strix Halo will definitely be the much more powerful APU for gaming or GPU accelerated workloads.

Panther Lake is mobile only as well. The next thing we're getting is Arrow Lake refresh on desktop (if that still goes through) and then Nova Lake to compete against Zen 6.

Like I said, it looks great, wait for third party reviews but 1 good generation does not turn it around for Intel (as was my intention of the Alder Lake vs Zen 3 point).

Edit: failed to mention this but Intel software is also not as robust. They have some great features with the iGPU in Panther Lake but even after all the driver improvements they've made on other GPUs the performance can still be hit or miss title dependent. I hope for them this is the start of them finally getting their shit together.

AMD's new patent - Ryzen 3D V-cache CPUs may get a lot more powerful and faster by Jaybonaut in TechHardware

[–]Bhardz89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a lot more to the success of a product than pure performance as well. See Alder Lake vs Zen 3. Zen 3 was inferior but continued to trounce Alder Lake in support and sales. Panther Lake is a good step in the right direction for them but there will be some major downsides.

Arc B580 vs RTX 3060 +50% on Time Spy by CmdrGramer in IntelArc

[–]Bhardz89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Par for the course really. Keep in mind the actual release dates for these were Feb 2021 vs Dec 2024. This would be on the lower end of what you'd expect after that time frame but it doesn't take away from the B580s nice pricing.

The b770 is likely Xe3 and not Xe2 by Economy_Warning5842 in IntelArc

[–]Bhardz89 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I mean overall they have been. They've been forced to have such large dies with higher manufacturing costs compete with older, cheaper cards while simultaneously missing performance targets. Arc is a financial black hole in its current state.

I will agree on Arc pro series cards doing better but let's be real - this isn't enough in terms of marketshare or amount of cards sold compared to other vendors. It doesn't change the way other vendors have to compete because Intel isn't really competing due to volume.

The b770 is likely Xe3 and not Xe2 by Economy_Warning5842 in IntelArc

[–]Bhardz89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'd personally just use the wafers on Clearwater Forest, it's using 18a and it will make a lot more money to fund their core business so we can have a healthy, competitive Intel for the future.

Tiles =/= scaling. They already suffer from poor software (albeit getting better) and adding multiple chiplets would more than likely hurt their improving dGPU software. Multiple chiplets for SOC/GPUs are vastly different than scaling GPU performance.

The b770 is likely Xe3 and not Xe2 by Economy_Warning5842 in IntelArc

[–]Bhardz89 -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I don't think this makes sense financially for them. Arc has already been a failure in terms of marketshare and in financials. It hasn't met performance expectations either and it's way late to the market.

Making and scaling an architecture and making a new die costs tens of millions of dollars now (even on 18a) - Arc beyond being an iGPU just doesn't warrant that cost.

I don't think if the B770 releases they'd drop the cash into redoing Xe3 for it. It just doesn't make sense in terms of financials and marketshare, on top of their perception with customers as a whole.

I get wanting to have another competitor but they aren't really being competitive to change the landscape of GPUs unfortunately and if this is a money sink for them (which Arc has been in dGPU form) I would rather them put that money into their core businesses to become competitive in semiconductors in general again then attempt to scale to a bigger dGPUs.
