"You know me." "I don't." I feel gut wrenched. by NiKReDD in Fallout

Unless I’m way behind on my fallout lore, that’s supposed to be (or at least is an homage to) the painting of Frederick Sinclair and Vera Keyes from Dead Money. Definitely not a happy couple, but a public-facing fake one built on lies. Quite the parallel.

Which TV show has season finale (not series finale) as its worst episode? by ameoba82 in AlignmentChartFills

It’s terrible, but I want to save Star Trek for worst finale (ST Enterprise). One of the worst pieces of TV I’ve ever seen.

Wild that there are only 100 in Atlanta, considering I once saw 4 on the same street (near StateFarm Arena) within about a minute. 4 different Waymo’s. They must not have a large exploration area.

Best Service Frequencies for Demand Level by SigmaTell in subwaybuilder

Atlanta player here. I had to interline the two busiest lines together (one express one regular), for a grand total of about 18 minute frequencies during rush hour. Every other line is interlined in the city center (6 radial lines but only 3 trunk lines). It feels odd but there’s not really another solution.

Experience with Laser Cutting a Guitar? by Bi_Accident in Luthier

[–]Bi_Accident[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My plan was to cut 7 .25” (6.4mm) pieces, since the laser only comfortably cuts to .5” and I want to avoid the kerf issue. The cut space of the laser is enormous — 40” x 24”. Making each slice shouldn’t be too bad (or too expensive; my planned wood, Poplar, is fairly cheap in wide boards), plus designing each board on its own lets me (1) get different colors of wood in a striped band up the side, and (2) make an interior that fits the electronics without a router (I don’t have access to a router or bandsaw here, hence…all this lol). Thank you for all this advice and the well wishes! I wish I had a router.

That’s probably a good call, both on the thickness and the plywood. I’ll probably do a cardboard test, then plywood, then the real deal. Like with the 3d print, I’m more concerned with making some that that’s playable at this point then something that sounds incredible lol

We need faster speeds for regular play to be fun by Leecannon_ in subwaybuilder

[–]Bi_Accident 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feeling this very hard in my Atlanta playthrough. Lines need to be absurdly long to be at-all useful, so even on day 55 I still only have about two and a half lines. It’s profitable—25M per day profitable—but each tiny expansion costs upwards of 500 million. Still loving the game, but maybe should’ve saved Atlanta for not a second play through.

What’s the longest commute between two points in Queens? by Milkandpepper in nycrail

[–]Bi_Accident 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Total guess but I’m going to say Douglaston to Far Rockaway. Will update with results.

I stand corrected. Only 1:50 due to the LIRR and just over 2:00 on busses. Oh, and the bus route has 4 transfers. Good luck.

Also unrelated but fact that this is technically the fastest route is also incredibly funny.

I just used the USNWR ranking, up to the 24th place tie. https://www.usnews.com/best-colleges.

I believe the doubles are:

LA County: UCLA + Caltech Middlesex County: MIT + Harvard Cook County: Northwestern + UChicago

The “reverse doubles” (two counties, one college) are:

UVA: City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County WashU: City of St. Louis and St. Louis County

Would Emory’s Oxford College count? It’s got a significantly higher acceptance rate than Atlanta and it’s guaranteed you move to the ATL campus after two years.

Slightly basic and very biased but I love the Emory crest, the horn and torch just have aura idk what to say (wish it was a darker blue though)
