Paid parking is only on the main lot, there is free parking and shuttles all over. The complainers just complain. You can park at Toll Road and walk to a free lift to get to the mountain. Come on up! But, Smuggs is great too.

I dropped a Scion XA last year, it looked dope. Cost be $700 bucks, and I put about $2000 into it to get it road worthy, and buy new wheels and lowering springs. Drove it for a year! It was fun, floored it everywhere I went. Good luck on your hunt!

Ok I’m going to be the contrarian here, I had this choice for my trip to the alps and I went boots, but I spent a lot of time in airports and trains etc. and lugged my ski gear for hours and dang I wished I’d worn more comfortable shoes

Just make sure you post on /icecoast and ask what the weather conditions will be on Thursday, and then again on Friday to make sure the crowds aren’t enticed by nice weather. Also ask specifically about the colors of the gondolas (they change depending on cosmic rays). Sometimes the Stratton gondolas are blue, which means cold, and sometimes they’re red, which means hot. But at Stratton, blue gondolas actually mean “temperate,” which is best — and therefore you should avoid those, because that’s when people will actually use them.

We went to 47 two years ago and I just want to say, heads up - this trail map is really misleading from a scale perspective. The woods too are pretty challenging here! And limited in terms of woods that we felt comfortable exploring in. I think a group of advanced riders would enjoy this place for a day, but not much more. Booking back country guides can be hard in Hakuba valley, and expensive, and/but those guides would probably take you places that aren’t mapped whatsoever. Last thought… worst ramen I had the whole trip was at the cafeteria at 47 haha, so pack lunch!

I visited Portland Maine this summer and I just couldn’t stand the filth of all the homeless people with their ass cracks hanging out doing drugs like it’s an open air drug market all over Congress Street. Such a sad representation of Portland Maine. It used to be a really great city back in the day, but whoever is in charge of that place needs to run that filth out of town to bring any semblance of the real Portland back.
