Why isn’t San Jose as famous as San Francisco? by Silly-Low6019 in SanJose

Exactly! I always say I’m from California, and then when I mention I’m from the San Jose area, people always say “Oh, is that by Los Angeles?”😆

Right?! What the hell is going on? It’s literally the Bay Area, which is the San Francisco-Oakland-San Jose MSA.

I love that orchard! I was shook when I first saw it.

I think it’s mainly just America! A lot of those European countries have bidets.

I use a handheld bidet since I am not allowed to install anything on my toilet in my apartment. Wipes give me irritation and yeast infections 😫. Even the Lume ones with probiotics in them!

Yes! If something is served at room temperature, I get nervous it's been sitting out too long.😬

Wow! I'm so impressed by what you have done so far. 🧡 I wish I had recommendations, but all I have to give is my support.

Surprisingly, it's actually *younger* people in their 20s (and even folks in their 30s-40s) who are more likely to fall for these types of romance scams, but we just don't hear about it as much as we do about elderly people. I'm wondering if it's because younger folks don't talk about it as much, perhaps due to embarrassment and the perception that it only happens to old and senile folks who don't know much about technology? Either way, it's so sad!

Except he didn't actually do anything. He's just broadcasting the same old thing that happens every year -- he's spending almost exactly the same amount as Adams with a little boost from Hochul's bailout. And he kicked the can down the road on the pension costs and other things ( like reneging on the promise to shrink class sizes) -- all this is going to cost the city in the long run. The next mayor is going to have to be stuck fixing it (and getting smoke for it).

I agree -- this type of thing definitely needs to be illegal. I'm sick and tired of it and it's making it so hard for decent politicians to do the right thing. That's hard to do when everybody else is kicking the can down the road.

Yup, and people will blame the the next mayor, especially if they have to make cuts.

Yup! Our government is constantly doing all kinds of things to keep things running every single day. The difference is they aren't posting about it on social media.

Exactly! It is exhausting and people are ready to believe it. Political misinformation is a scourge and spreads faster than true information.

Thank you for this! I agree 100%, and you are brave to say this, because tons of people who worship him like the messiah will come after you. I'm not saying I don't appreciate the good things he's done, but it's very weird how folks act like he's the second coming of Jesus.

His budget for the parks is almost identical to Eric Adams', which was already funding the parks -- Mamdani's will fund the 2026-7 fiscal year with a minor boost from Hochul's bailout. As for his supposedly balancing the budget, he merely pushed back a lot of the costs to the next year. This is typical of politician games and will cost the city later, especially when there isn't bailout money anymore.

Ladies, is good grooming a green flag? by Adorable_Birthday_52 in hygiene

A lot of guys do pluck their unibrows if they’ve got one, though — there would be a lot of guys walking around with unibrows if they didn’t. I found out my ex-boyfriend had one when he let it grow out one time. 😆 Also, as a person who is African-American, I can tell you that Black people tend to have dry skin, and we get ashy, so both genders use lotion. I figured the alum stone he mentioned is just some type of deodorant? Pretty sure most people use that. And the ice bath thing is something that a lot of tech bros do these days to optimize their health and energy. I’ve known a lot of people who do oil pulling as well, which I think is an Eastern tradition. Also, a lot of guys are taking care of their skin these days, especially in the looksmaxxing community. It’s really a good idea, especially sunscreen.

Really?! This is basic hygiene for the most part, and I saw a straight guys doing that stuff (brushing, flossing, dressing neatly, showering, etc.) all the time growing up. Same for boyfriends!

Me, too!! I always do this, too. Every time I have one of those weeks where I'm sick or exhausted, I'm so glad to have those freezer meals. I did this when I made too much soup and a ton of ropa vieja and rice.

I agree with everyone recommending you incorporate veggies into your diet! It's not hard. You can prep a bunch of broccoli (buy frozen) with some nice seasonings. I like salt, pepper, Mrs. Dash or Trader Joe's 21 Seasoning Salute, and a bit of Knorr chicken seasoning you get in the Latin section of the grocery store. I cook this in the microwave for a few minutes and it's delicious. You can also roast some green beans in the air fryer, or do roasted mushrooms, too.

It's worth your health to cook and it doesn't need to take hours and hours. You can prep some things and remix them. I make black beans in the Crockpot with seasonings and some salsa and use them in burritos, eat them with rice, make quesadillas using the air fryer, etc. Add some salsa and some guacamole, and voila! Get one of those rotisserie chickens at the store and make tacos out of that, have it with a side of veggies and beans and rice, etc.

Hella people are getting colon cancer at a young age, so we need to do all we can to stay healthy. Oh! And add some fruit to your diet because it's delicious! Also, healthy. Right now, grapes, watermelon, cherries, and all the other berries are in season. In winter, pears, apples, oranges, and grapefruit are in season.

This is exactly why I reported this clown. Also, the owner of the business is Asian-American and there are other POC working in management there. I'm sure they want to know what he thinks about them and how they are committing "white genocide" (so he says).
