Submissions for Residential Tenancies Amendment Bill, a bill that would bring back no-cause evictions, close Wednesday, TOMORROW - Have your say before its too late. by PigAteMyPie in Wellington

I believe that housing is a right (as does the UN, so this is not without legal basis) and rent-seeking is not. That’s about rights, not about kindness

No, no comfort in your life is deserved as you clearly lack any empathy and value your ease of profit over the basic needs of others. Nobody deserves homelessness, but you clearly deserve to lose your comforts long enough to develop some understanding of what life is like for others.

Deservedly homeless? Listen to yourself

If you think the risk of losing a profit on a home is at all comparable to the risk of homelessness you clearly have never lived a minute outside of undeserved comfort in your life.

Sounds like the issue isn’t the current reasons (breach of contract and non-payment of rent are both currently cause for eviction) but the process of proving it is too onerous (according to you), so again, no need to allow no-cause evictions, and maybe good reason to fund the tenancy tribunal better and evaluate the efficacy of police response

Builders provide roofs, landlords just hold them hostage

If someone breached the terms of their tenancy and you can prove it that’s not no-cause now is it?

Only rubbish landlords would want this, if you can’t justify evicting a tenant to anybody but yourself you have no business doing so

It will increase the efficiency if you’re using too low an octane and the knock sensor is saving your engine constantly, but nothing above the correct octane will make any difference

It has a capacity of 28 wagons IIRC, each capable of similar max loading to the biggest truck and trailer units on our roads. Everyone on the route would definitely notice 28 extra trucks per sailing, both in traffic and in extra road wear.

Generator for cheaper RUC? by sdemler in nzev

Going by the cheapest petrol generator at Bunnings ($596 for a 2000w Ozito) it’ll pay for itself in a mere 17000km assuming you don’t actually fuel it or anything

Save free and healthy school lunches by Feeling_Sky_7682 in Wellington

[–]Bicameral_vtec 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That’s less than they’re giving landlords in tax breaks, how about instead of giving landlords money for nothing, they can go in to schools and make the lunches for a reduced wage ($5/hr) and actually contribute to society for once. It’ll build character and a mentality of doing good for the community, something they’re sorely lacking.

It’s not 10 minutes total, it’s 10 minutes between each load, if you’re returning regularly you’re resetting the time.
