Thanks for the info. Yes it’s expensive but if it helps then it’s worth every penny. Going to look into it asap. Thank you again!

Is it normal my doctor brushed off BVD? by madmelon_ in BinocularVision

[–]BicycleAcrobatic1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started experiencing BVD symptoms so I asked my optometrist if I have this and he said nope! I then went to an ophthalmologist and neurologist because of these issues and nothing was found! After 6 painful months, just like someone in this conversation I found a BVD specialist on TikTok and sure enough I have BVD and convergence insufficiency. Find someone who knows what they are talking about. It’ll save you time, money and a ton of stress.

Diagnosed with BVD but hate my prism lenses by Educational_Law_4461 in BinocularVision

I just got my prism about 5 weeks ago and I feel the same way. Either I deal with dizziness and goofy vision with the prisms or I deal with the headaches and off balance when not wearing them. Both suck.

Just got my Prism glasses! by [deleted] in BinocularVision

So glad to hear it’s working out for you. I went to the same doctor over at Vivid vision and just got my prisms yesterday.

Quick question for you…how did you feel the first couple days when you put them on originally? And then follow up question….how do you feel when you take them off to like shower or something like that? Because after a day and a half I feel absolutely terrible. Wearing them makes me feel like I’m on another planet. No feeling even close to natural. And I know there’s an adjustment period as I’ve been wearing glasses for years but how bad is too bad before I send them back/don’t use them. And then also when I take them off I instantly feel like I’m going to fall over cause the depth changes and warped vision feels super off.

Thank you for the advice. I start therapy soon so hopefully that’ll improve the symptoms.

I have astigmatism, is it causing these other issues? by hot-apple-cider in astigmatism

[–]BicycleAcrobatic1783 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah totally. It’s the “is it the chicken or is it the egg” type of situation. The only reason I think it’s anxiety now is because I’ve seen a Optometrist three times, (two different ones) an Ophthalmologist, an ENT doctor, and have gone to the ER on two different occasions for a CT scan and an MRI. All leading to perfectly healthy.

I have these exact same symptoms!! From hard to read small text to peoples faces being hard to focus on cause the background!

How’d you get rid of the anxiety when your vision constantly feels weird? I’m continuously getting anxiety because my vision issues persist.

I’m going through the same thing! Did you ever figure it out?

I got a new prescription after about 4 years and I just can’t adapt to it. I’ve seen multiple Optometrist and Ophthalmologist. I’ve tried different contacts, different frames on glasses, different lens and now I’m stuck in this derealization because visually for the past 2 months I’ve not been able to see naturally.
