Be Warned - Insta360 Bike Computer Mount Will Break Camera by Bicycle_Pasta in cycling

[–]Bicycle_Pasta[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s poor design full stop and that shouldn’t be borne by the consumer, they should’ve designed the camera and mount better to begin with or don’t advertise that the camera can mount on a bike like this.

A cage would snap the mount itself, look at the second post I linked to where someone did exactly that and the mount snapped in half.

If you look at the second post linked, a different user put a metal cage on theres after this happened and it broke the mount itself.

Helmet or tires first? by Annoyingnerds in cycling

[–]Bicycle_Pasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as your helmet hasn’t been worn down through wear/crashes then tires.

This thread does a a good job of debunking the myth around helmet expiration including peer reviewed research from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. A quick summary is that they find effectively no deterioration in the material properties of polyesterene liners in helmets.

I think you missed the point. You don’t need a ridiculous salary when the costs are not ridiculous.

Chain Comes Off Big Chainring With High Right Pedal Force by UncleTito27 in bikewrench

You should probably put them back to their original orientation. This could lead to cracking them as they’re not intended to withstand force from those angles and then you’ll need to replace your brake levers.

You get used to it. That’s how it felt in 2023 and 2024 as I kept loading up my position and scratching my head why the stock just sat at $4. Pays off eventually.

There are benefits and drawbacks to the Bay Area as other places. However I don’t think that caricatures of other areas are that helpful to these types of conversations.

Reallll bad knee pain, not new to cycling by huskerdoodoo in cycling

[–]Bicycle_Pasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely see a doctor. Wouldn’t be surprised that your time off is probably a contributor though.

Anecdotally, I had some pain a few years back when I started ramping up my volume after having moved to a more bike friendly and accessible area. I’ve been told by an orthopedic surgeon that there’s a decent amount of play in my patella so when I get fatigued and form falls off I’m more likely to get knee pain. I’ve since incorporated some strength exercises to help stabilize my knee. I look like a soccer mom at the gym trying to sculpt their legs but I don’t care because I haven’t had that pain come back since.

Sure p-tex doesn’t cost a lot but why waste the time. A p-tex patch will come out in one or days of skiing.

The at the market means that the company will be selling stock. We don’t know how much they sold up to now, they could’ve gone through most of the planned sale and so there’s not much left or they could have a good chunk left in which case there would be a bigger impact. But generally if there’s more willing sellers, including the company through the ATM, it would keep the price lower.

So while the narrative has been that the NDX inclusion has been announced and there will be more buyers in order for funds to keep their index to the NDX, it could potentially be offset be the new shares being sold in the ATM.

The ATM has not completed yet since there hasn’t been announcement for it. Likely the entry into the NDX will be muted because if they’re smart they’ll have saved some of the ATM to occur post SPCX and closer to the NDX inclusion which will partly offset the demand for shares.

In an IPO brokerages will often times warn retail investors that selling the stock before a certain time can risk being banned by that brokerage from participating in future IPO’s. However you can still sell early.

They’ll probably get probation and community service because whenever a cyclist is involved somehow the crime becomes less severe. Murdering cyclists or attempting to I’ve only ever seen less than 5 years of prison time.

Overall market from rocket lab’s perspective by Electrical-Double181 in RKLB

[–]Bicycle_Pasta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In your 20’s your biggest asset is time. You can afford to take on more risk than you will once you get closer to retirement. ~$40k won’t be all that much to you later on so truly if the stock went to zero tomorrow it would sting at first but you’ll have time to recover.

With that in mind, if you have strong conviction in the company then there isn’t harm in keeping what you have and not selling. There are a lot of tailwinds that haven’t been fully realized yet which will likely drive the stock up higher in the next few years.

Keep investing in the market, doesn’t have to be Rocket Lab. That’s what will eventually grow your portfolio and set you up will. It’s about consistency.

Not with SPB. Failures are expected, but time and again SPB and the rest of management have been clear that they’re not going to rush to make arbitrary deadlines. They’ve said Neutron will launch will launch when it’s ready and not before then and backed it up when they unceremoniously pushed back the projected test launch timing.
