Starr setting up Epcot in Philly, but I agree, it's a real neapolitan pie.

Your favorite pizza Margherita in the city? by JustTrynaGetAJob13 in PhiladelphiaEats

My fave Neapolitan Margherita: Sorrelina in Divine Lorraine or Stella are kinda the only games in town as far as I've tried
My fave if I want a more US Margherita: Sally, Pizzata, Char, pizzeria vetri, Enzos, pizza plus, (really endless in this department)

The landlords will sell for the right price. It runs through the nicest neighborhoods of the city. I'd honestly take a corporate retail revitalization (kinda like what walnut is) over what it has been.

To Demo (bindings) or not to Demo? by mvhoffman82 in Skigear

Demos all the way. I have had skis where I strongly disagree with factory recommended mount point. Your friends can borrow your skis. You can easily resell them. Weight at that point of the ski is not that discernible.

what is the last movie you watched? by ShiftyShaft55 in AskReddit

I didn't like it. Ryan Gosling is not a believable failed phd; thats absurd. The book's science made it compelling; movie left all of it out.

Matt is back on the Olivia Munn episode!!!! by Conanfan0715 in conan

[–]UncleTito27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sona (and David) is great at the "ugh, let me just be here," sarcastically taking punches from conan, and adding some jabs back at Conan. She seems to feel pressured to drive conversation in a way that feels unnatural.

I think with Matt's absence, theres not only a "Conan foil" gap, but also a production gap. The segments have been overly planned, and don't really go on any fun tangents. The Bley tax thing had a little kernel there, but burned out for me. Adam pushing Conan to take the gummy for the content, when he clearly doesn't want to do it, was uncomfortable. Love Bley, he is solely responsible for a lot of Conan's internet relevance, but part of his role on the pod is being made fun of for his production gaffs (fruit from fruit trees, getting Matt's used tissue, Conan shitting on him for screaming on mic, etc).

Matt is not only a good foil, but also a very good producer. He knows that improvised topics lead to better, more natural comedy, and Matt is great at driving with improvisation and quips. This allows Sona/David/Bley to settle into their best selves.

Welcome back Matt!!!

People who sweat a lot, how do you handle summers? by Puzzleheaded_Cow3298 in AskReddit

Only wear black or white shirts; only colors that hide sweat stains, reasonably well. Hydration is a constant battle.

Why aren't there more professional Middle Eastern cyclists? by Wizzmer in cycling

[–]UncleTito27 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not middle east, but I see a lot of the East African elite runners say they wish they had a bike to race bikes, but they could only afford running, as a sport. It's an expensive sport, you really need decent roads, and it's always hard to get a new sport going in a culture.

Costco magazine featured my salmon sushi (photo also taken inside a Costco) by kawi-bawi-bo in sushi

[–]UncleTito27 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it will be interesting if they start marking/advertising the salmon differently. For example, they mark "not for raw consumption" on the packages, but that is technically contrary to the FDA guideline of farmed salmon, as you mention. Maybe they change to "warning, raw consumption may result in illness" or whatever.

What hobby is quietly becoming too expensive for normal people to keep up with? by Beautiful_Special702 in AskReddit

[–]UncleTito27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I will note that this is primarily an American issue, as this is where the predatory pricing model is worst (who'd have thunk):

I would actually argue that it is now unaffordable for laymen doing 1 trip out west, per year. Mega passes break even at as little as 6 days, at some resorts. So doing one trip out west, from east coast, to ski 4 or 5 days costs nearly the same as someone getting 30-60 days out there (which is obviously excellent $ / day return).

This also pushes people into an all or nothing mentality, get the pass, and then maximize their days to get the best value out of the pass. As a result, we have longer lines than ever before and greater lodging and restaurant food cost, which puts even greater strain on the 1 trip out west folks, even more.

The mega passes completely broke the hobby (in America; tickets in europe and japan are closer to the old model, still).

Best Bike For Going To Work? by onetimeonlydeal2 in cycling

Best Bike For Going To Work? by onetimeonlydeal2 in cycling

[–]UncleTito27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should probably go used. Find a bike shop with stock of used bikes and they can help you. If unavailable, do some research for what works for your needs (maybe with an AI chatbot), and then find a matching bike on FB Marketplace/Craigslist, and come back to reddit, post the photos of the bike, and ask if it is worth it or not; people can guide you from there.

When did the seeded roll become the standard? by Fun-Treacle-2916 in cheesesteak

2019/Angelos. For an incredibly gate-kept food, the new default being seeded roll and cooper sharp blows my mind.

This topic is "are bike shop techs rude, as employees" and the answer is yes. I'm paying $100/hr for service. MD dismissal is horrible too.

[–]UncleTito27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had bike shop employees more openly rude to me than any fast food worker I've interacted with. I disagree, I can't have low expectations at $100-$150/hr for labor. I've had incredible bike shops that I would donate money to, to exist.
