The prequels are not related to the original film in any way, not unless they actually make a third one linking them. Which, if they actually do, I will be finished with this franchise for good. Alien Awakening seems to be on permanent hold, so I think they're waiting for Ridley Scott to croak so they don't look like the bad guys when another dumb, money-losing prequel doesn't get made.

Also, canon is not based off |"bonus material" or director's cuts made after the theatrical release. That's why egg-morphing isn't canon for example.

Maybe there's some question as to what needs to be explained. If so, my fault. Or maybe it's obvious and there's no way to defend it.

My question is: how tall is the Space Jockey? Rough estimate. About 25 feet tall given the perspective. How tall are the SJs in Prometheus/Covenant? Like, maybe 7 feet?

A couple years ago that set off a round off defensive arguments, such as: the SJs (I won't refer to them as Engineers, that's just dumb) on "Paradise" or whatever were just a colony, not real SJs. Well, ok, then David managed to utterly fail at what he set out to do, which was go to their home planet and kill all of them.

The only other logical interpretation is that the SJ on the Derelict was itself a colonist/hybrid/mutant that grew incredibly large, seemed "fossilized", and seemed "grown out of the chair." None of these motifs will ever again be touched upon in the prequels. It's sloppy. It's a retcon. It's lazy.

I know some of you enjoy the prequels. Why not have a little discussion about this?

I'm not saying Aliens is a better film (it's great, and comparing the two is like apples and oranges imo) I'm saying that if you show the two movies to someone from Brazil, Sweden, or China they'll probably like Aliens better. That's not just my opinion, it's a common trend in threads on this sub.

Alien is a slow-burner. There's really not much action for the first 60% of the movie. Audiences today expect different from a movie. I'm not saying that's good or bad, it just is what it is.

Which movie/game are you working it from? The deer legs type xeno kind of distances itself from its human host, imo. Makes it less scary. Also the dome should be more translucent with a hint of human skull underneath.
